Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

If hummerz said that we were close to it, then we must think like the people who guessed before
I should clarify. I was talking to Devlin about a technicality he stumbled across. Those previous guesses may be close... or not...

he isn't reading every post
You give me too much credit. I probably just figured it wasn't really a guess because I felt like it had been proven wrong before, so why would someone purposely choose that as a guess?
From my vantage point, this rule is less disposed to analysis and more just me trying to apply a lose definition to a plethora of weird situations prompted from all of you.

^ Oi, I've been giving hardly any... oh I suppose I said devlin was on to something. I should stop saying that.
also,
It must be invalid and not incorrect.
I ignored the first guess because it didn't seem very guesslike

So like I said earlier... you are looking in what seems to me to be the wrong direction. To be fair, we can look whatever direction moves us, but I worry that some of your tests are actually just going to confuse you more than help, so...

Interesting approach to decomposing the message to find the rule, but I think that's most effective against "containment" rules (which, all of the previous ones have essentially been a form of)
I admit, this one is interesting...

it's been an arbitrary amount of time since the rule started, so now I'm arbitrarily giving everyone a second guess for this rule.
hints: one word will always break the rule; maxi would enjoy the rule; characters and ratios and such aren't the right tree to bark up.

new rule! also, for the record, I cheated in defining a "word" like a programming identifier (like a variable name definition) and that won't be going on. In the future, a word must be a word by Merriam Webster's decree

no, I'm just noting that they will be in charge of saying "a word is a word"
also, if you had an upper hand in the last rule (which you never used), this one gives you the "lower" hand, if you will.

and obviously can't contain words or phrases that aren't in Merriam Webster's dictionary
I think I know what you mean, which is distinct from what you said, but in case you mean explicitly what you said, not quite.
edit: well also, I brought up the dictionary repeatedly because it seems important to point out. But, I wasn't going to say it during the last round because that would make it obvious the rule depended on words.
