Yes actually. There's hundreds of Mario clones scattered about the internet, some of them rivaling the quality of Nintendo's own games. Many of them even rip assets directly from the original Mario games, which is definitely infringement, but tends to be overlooked by Nintendo as long as the creator isn't trying to profit off the game.

Err yeah, that's true, but nintendo could easily have these games removed if they wanted, the simply don't because it doesn't mater.

My first visit to the forum involved the following message:

err what? Goes to show the level of maturity of the admins. Not a good first impression.

And honestly, I don't think this is gonna go anywhere. Making a physics engine/platform game itself isn't that hard, but making the game communicate with a server, and dealing with issues such as lag will be hard, especially for a 9 year old (no offense).

I feel kinda bad for this kid. I mean, he IS only nine. No one was exactly bright when they were nine.
Shoot, I have a 9 year old cousin who does the "LALALA CAN'T HEAR YOU" and all that jazz all the time. And I just say "eh" cause I mean, once he hits puberty he'll hopefully grow out of his naivety. Hopefully.
