I recall seeing it before; only the once though. I think it appears when they either just logged off as you entered the lobby, they just got on as you entered the lobby or you both entered the lobby at roughly the same time.

I saw it many times. When one of my friends leaves the world and I want to follow them, sometimes they just go offline while I'm refreshing the friend list.
