Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Re: how to fix this?

Do you have a 1920x1080 resolution monitor?
It also sounds like you got a new computer since you said

Re: how to fix this?

Firstly, if nothing is wrong with your computer now, why spend money on a new one.
Most problems are easy(ish) to solve with a quick google, and if not, you can always reinstall windows.

Secondly what is it you are actually trying to change? Windows resolution? The resolution in a game? If you are asking for help with something, its generally a good idea to give as much information as possible
Usually, any graphics problems can be solved by updating your graphics drivers, the default windows ones (I dont think) let you change the resolution
To do this (in windows 10, as admin at least):
1. Right click on the start button, and click on device manager
2. Show the display adapters (the drop down arrow on the left)
3. Right click on your graphics card (probably NVIDIA GeForce GTX xxx)
4. Click update driver software
5. Click search automatically
6. If it finds a more recent graphics driver, install it
