Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

I am thankful for love! Without love, we would all be completely lost. Love is the fuel for the soul, and we can give it to others. The most extreme acts of love may cost our money, our time, or even our lives, but I believe that these sacrifices are all worth it.

love is just a chemical reaction

I've never understood why people say that. It's like saying "your 'post' is just data stored in a few particles in a machine somewhere, transmitted to other data-browsing devices, submitting signals to peoples' brains that get interpreted into arbitrary meaning based on learned social patterns." Is it true? Assuming a naturalist (and as a result, nihilist) point of view, yes, it's technically true. However, whether or not you like it, everybody interprets meanings from things that may or may not have actual meanings.

Whatever love you may be describing may just be a chemical reaction, but what about sacrificial love? Saying they're "just brain chemicals" is really undervaluing the importance of love. Giving food to starving people in Africa is just your brain chemicals influencing how you act, right? And by your logic, sacrificing your life to protect somebody else isn't special because it's just brain chemicals!

Would you rather see poop on the streets everyday because of no toilets OR see no poop anywhere because we have toilets? Be thankful that someone invented the sewer system.

Really dude? You're really just going to assume he doesn't live in south india or central africa? Shameful, dude. I can't believe bigots exist on this forum in the current year.

Ok well if you're thankful for absolutely nothing you must be living a ****ty life. I feel very sorry for you and hope you become miles better in the end.

You're not thankful for who made the clothes you wear or the food you eat? Not thankful for the emotions you feel and have you are able to type with your fingers?

Re: What are you thankful for?

I'm thankful for finishing my first year at university without (hopefully) doing too badly or really working too hard at all.

And for the 4 months of summer holiday I now get.

I am thankful that I don't need to search for food and water every day, and that I have a comfy bed to sleep on.
