Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

3d model renders

hey hi i recently got into 3d modeling with blender and this is my first serious (as in attempted to be high quality) render

bismuth crystals

i wanted to know what do you people think and got a few questions
why imgur drops image quality and makes it so blurry?
is that because imgur hosts the image in .jpg format? (i uploaded in .png format)
the image resolution is 1366x768 because i wanted to try using it as wallpaper, but when setting the image as wallpaper i have the same problem as with imgur
where could i upload the image in it's .png format without quality loss and how do i put it on desktop wallpaper without quality loss?

EDIT: i guess ill use this topic to publish my blender "artwork"

radioactive batteries
spinning circles
Toy blocks
Zweihander
Thump daggers

imgur is bad

maxi123 wrote:

yes because imgur is bad

windows is bad too, in the same way imgur is bad. It resaves it as a lossy jpg because who would want a high quality lossless wallpaper

maybe teknik.io or SLiMG or there's some .moe site floating around that's supposed to be decent but I can't remember the name.

If you just save it as a jpg yourself, then Windows will not convert it. That way you can use a much higher quality jpg as your desktop background. Also, I'm pretty sure Windows will not convert bmp files either, which are lossless though uncompressed.

Re: 3d model renders

it feels as if you can squish them and they'll squish back however they are also solid so when you squish them they don't squish back

If by files you mean objects, Shift A. To edit the selected object hit Tab to go into edit mode and Tab again to go back into object mode. Right click to select. Look up a tutorial, blender is hard to get in to.

That's the file browser.

Re: 3d model renders

I like the material you used. It reminds me of an oil spill.

I suggest looking online for tutorials because blender has many different features.

woot made this a week or two ago and successfully using it as my wallpaper now //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/big_smile

Re: 3d model renders

hey hi hello
i made this recently, a small .avi looped animation
heres a GIF preview (lower quality and slightly lower FPS and lower size (9MB vs 22MB)) for those that dont want to download for various reasons:
k69
took me something something 11 hours to render on my super powerful laptop

also fixed pictures in the OP

Re: 3d model renders

Oi it's me again
Got spare time on my hands so I decided to play around with Blender a little bit plus upload some of the older renders!

Toy blocks
Zweihander
Thump daggers

Also gonna add them to the OP
Criticism is welcomed I guess //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/cool

Re: 3d model renders

what happens if you export an animation to the .n64 format and then run it in a Nintendo 64 emulator, what happens to the quality and rendering speed

I'm known as "haslo" in EE. Also, I refuse to play EEU.
