Mafia 9 Game Thread (MAFIA + MAXI WIN!!!)

The important differences between this game and previous ones are listed in the signup thread. I'm lazy so I copypasted Rhaz's rule list.

1. All forum rules apply, however spam and multi-posting rules are more lenient. So long as your posts are relevant to the game it shouldn't be an issue, but don't push it.

2. Do not post in this thread unless you are alive in the game. All posts made by dead players and people not in the game will be deleted. No exceptions.

3. You may not edit or delete your posts. This function will be disabled in this game.

4. Do not quote someone else's post and edit for misleading purposes.

5. You must stay active and contribute to discussion to stay in the game. If you stay inactive too long, you will be prodded for inactivity and replaced if you don't respond to the prod within 24 hours. Earning more than one prod will result in you being replaced or modkilled.

6. Do not quote, copy paste, or screenshot any message sent by the game moderator for any reason. Paraphrasing is allowed, such as saying what your role is or does, but don't copy paste an entire role pm word for word.

7. Do not gamethrow. Gamethrowing is defined as actively working against your role/faction's win condition, and is dealt with on a case by case basis.

8. As soon as a majority is reached, it counts as the day being over. The moderator may not be there to lock the thread immediately so do not post after majority is reached.

9. You may not talk about the game with living players through any means other than the game thread and Mafia night chat. No exceptions.

10. Remember that this is just a game. If I see any form of harassment that may warrant a replacement or modkill.

11. If any player breaks any of these rules please private message me on the forums and I will deal with it. Do not use the forums report feature to report someone breaking one of the game rules unless they are also breaking a forum rule.

12. The moderator's word is final. If I say not to do something it means don't do it. If you have an issue then it's best to save until the end of the game as to not interfere with the game.

What's the best way to get past this part of the game?

There's nothing you can do until we get some facts. Either
A. Onjit starts the game with a night phase
B. Someone roleclaims
C. People randomly vote/accuse each other like they are doing right now

I really didn't expect someone to counterclaim because I assumed there was only one killing PR but marco sounds pretty serious. Either way, if marco doesn't have some back-up plan, then I'd say he's a goner. Maybe someone can protect him...

Now I'm somewhat glad you counterclaimed so I can ask you not to waste a bullet on me. Really if someone can protect marco none of us have to die, I promise.

You need 9 votes for a majority.

I'm not a jester and I obviously don't want to be lynched. I was trying to accomplish something by roleclaiming D1 but my plan failed(?) when others joined the vig train. Shooting each other is a waste of time and will cost us a lot of townies. Idk about marco but please consider that I had a reason for claiming and wasn't just for "lel so random XD".

I don't understand how Different is mafia too. Even if he was serious about there being multiple vigilantes that still wouldn't make him scum. I hate how players are arbitrarily choosing which posts are jokes and which are not and it makes for a good cover up.

Can you tell us what was your intention when you role claim in D1?

No. It still hasn't failed yet but marco's claim made it a lot harder.

Also, can you tell us what do you think on Bimps?

If you click the neat Isolate button on one of Bimps post it's clear to anyone that he's playing poorly.

-votes jawapa (no input)
-3-4 posts about how marco's an idiot

I don't like the argument that Bimps is playing "aggressively" this time because I don't want to tie behavior with previous games.

Conclusion: Nothing. Bimps hasn't done enough that would trigger any alarm. I can't call him out for voting on Jawapa when there are 3 others who did the same (including you).

I'm going to say SmittyW is citizen. Sorry for that, I know he really wants to act as a meat shield (he did so in the 9 player mafia game as well), but he is also wasting a lot of town discussion time by drawing attention to himself.

Thanks for outing me. Tbh marco would be the only one to counterclaim...

I don't think Zumza is mafia, he just seems really misled. If we expect Jawapa's statement to be true, he couldn't have attacked anyway. He's probably a citizen. I wasn't notified of anything last night either (You don't get notified for being attacked anyway).

My theory: SmittyW decided to protect himself from any investigation and get all the heal from doctor, bodyguards so he could kill without any worries. He probably didn't even believe there was a vigilante in this game, or he actually plan somebody will counterclaim to kill him first and janitor wash his role.

Your theory would make sense if I didn't say I wasn't expecting a counterclaim or beg for marco to be protected instead of me. Besides, I already withdrew my vigilante claim after Processor painfully revealed my intentions (Which I don't blame him for because it was causing confusion).

Will be back for more reads. Creature, Kirby, and Unau should definitely post more instead of randomly voting. Maybe AlphaJon should take Kingfdamt6579's place again.

I don't think anyone's at fault for lynching Bimps, but I'd like to take a look at who didn't vote on him:

Of course half of this bunch is idle and this doesn't guarantee their innocence. Bimps was a very easy target so it's strange that none of them seized that opportunity.

I'm not sure if you understood. I meant the people who did not vote are more likely townie. I'm not calling you mafia for not voting. Actually, you admitting that you had doubts about Bimps early on makes me believe you are more townie.

What makes you believe mafia didn't voted such an easy lyncht?

By behavior and statistics, chances are they aren't all 100% good. The "idle bunch" I was referring to are Creature, Unau, and Kubapolish.

Killing Processor N1 is a long mafia tradition. They probably thought marco would be protected so they chose proc instead.

I don't want to believe marco is a serial killer but his vig play is terrible. Counterclaiming D1? Killing Pyro? What for?
