Mafia 4 game thread (Day 2)

Do not post in this thread unless you are in the game.
If you wish to join go to the signups thread and join the backup queue. If a player needs to be replaced out the first person in the backup queue will take their spot.

The following rules are in play for the game, and I will be stricter on these rules than I was last time.

1. All forum rules apply, however spam and multi-posting rules are more lenient. So long as your posts are relevant to the game it shouldn't be an issue, but don't push it.

2. Do not post in this thread unless you are alive in the game. All posts made by dead players and people not in the game will be deleted.

3. You may not edit or delete your posts. This function will be disabled in this game.

4. Do not quote someone else's post and edit for misleading purposes.

5. You must stay active and contribute to discussion to stay in the game. If you stay inactive too long, you will be prodded for inactivity and replaced if you don't respond to the prod within 24 hours. Earning more than one prod will result in you being replaced or modkilled.

6. Do not quote, copy paste, or screenshot any message sent by the game moderator for any reason. Paraphrasing is allowed, such as saying your night result or what your role is, but don't copy paste an entire role pm.

7. Do not gamethrow. Gamethrowing is defined as actively working against your role/faction's win condition, and is dealt with on a case by case basis.

8. As soon as a majority is reached, it counts as the day being over. The moderator may not be there to lock the thread immediately so do not post after majority is reached.

9. You may not talk about the game with living players through any means other than the game thread and Mafia night chat.

10. Remember that this is just a game. If I see any form of harassment that may warrant a replacement or modkill.

11. If any player breaks any of these rules please private message me on the forums and I will deal with it. Do not use the forums report feature to report someone breaking one of the game rules unless they are also breaking a forum rule.

12. The moderator's word is final.

If you have any questions you can pm me or post in this thread, however keep in mind that questions relating to the current game I will likely not be able to answer, so only ask about game mechanics.

Could Creature and Calicara be working together? It would seem rather silly for Calicara to tie herself down with Creature. Otherwise if one of them dies, the other would be outed as a suspect. I think it's safe to say that at most only one of them could be mafia.

As of right now, Creature seems like the biggest suspect since he was roleblocked and there were no mafia kills. Either he admits his role or we wait for information from unspoken players.

I don't know why people suspect Processor. Not only does he post the most but he provides quality analyses. His "pushiness" also helps reveal the true colors of the defendant lest they do nothing.

Creature got himself in a predicament because Calicara claimed he was roleblocked before he said anything. Even if you were a towny, who would want to claim being roleblocked on a night with no mafia kills? That just seems suicidal... However, because Calicara's role will be revealed it might be best to hold off on Creature until we see what kind of relationship they had.

maxi seems very uptight and paranoid.

Maybe I missed a post but it looks like W24 is just randomly accusing everyone.

Right now it's 9v5 (8v5 or 9v4 without Calicara?). I'd say we have a decent chance of lynching a bad dude with the info we gathered.

I do not understand why you suspect me. I'm just trying to summarize the facts because with so many posts (long ones at that) it's hard to see what's going on. All we got is 2 role claims and Zelda's role. There isn't much to go off of besides our behavior.

Nevertheless, @Proc I think it would be wiser to lynch someone else since we know maxi and Creature are paired together. If anyone has a clue what their alignment is, we could easily get back at them. Who we lynch I still haven't decided.

You can't suspect me for something as trivial as post count, unless I never posted at all (in which case they would be prodded). Some players already stated that they don't have much to bring to the table. I'm in the same boat as them so I sympathize. Right now Processor is doing the good cop bad cop role so I'm entrusting him to squeeze as much info from players as possible.

Some players already stated that they don't have much to bring to the table. I'm in the same boat as them so I sympathize. Right now Processor is doing the good cop bad cop role so I'm entrusting him to squeeze as much info from players as possible.

Are you saying you're going to follow Processor for freelo?

I support Processor because he's bringing the most out on this team. If you have something opposing him I would be glad to hear it. I understand you may be trying to pressure me but I already explained that I have a plain role and nothing happened to me last night. I don't want it to come to this but if we don't get any other claims soon, we might have to lynch either you or maxi to get any info.

Isn't that the point of the game? In my case, I know what my role is so I want to spend more time interrogating others. Also don't get me wrong but I don't want to spare you just to get on your good side. I legitimately think that we can find a better suspect and lynch them instead, but if we don't nail a decision soon then I think lynching one of you is the second best option. I hope you understand.

Just want to say you did a great job as townie Processor and Bimps you maxi for your incessant harassment towards me. I bet this would have turned out to be a great game.

Apparently names do influence what your actions are. The alignment seems random but I noticed Rhazzle tries to involve your name into your role in some manner.

You came to this small Town from another world on a reconnaissance mission, however you knew that your cover would be blown if the Mafia took over. Luckily you have some nice bits of technology from your leaders that can help you take out the Mafia.

Only once during the day you may choose to investigate a player. You will be given the result immediately, however on good word you've been informed of some evildoers not aligned with the Mafia that even you can't spot. You may not perform an action the night after you use this ability. You may not use this ability day 1.

At night you may choose to Roleblock a player, Protect a player, or Shoot a player. You may do each of these actions only once. You may not target yourself.

You win when all threats to the Town have been eliminated.

People already know that they can't do anything without pylons, but what they don't know is what you can do with pylons. You've accumulated just enough spare pylons to fight against the threat of the Mafia.

Each night you may choose to set pylons outside your house. While the pylons are out anyone who visits you will be shot ignoring immunity and all actions targeting you will fail except for investigative actions. You may set pylons outside your house twice.

Due to the fact that everyone sees you as a nub however, you will appear as a member of the Mafia to all investigatives. You otherwise function as a Citizen.

You're a drifter from far away, but you've been everywhere. You can spot two people together from a mile away. When the Mafia decided to invade the Town, you decided to put your ability to the test.

Each night you may choose to inspect a player. You will receive no result night 1. Every night after that you will be informed of whether the player you inspect is of the same alignment or a different alignment as the previous player you inspected. You will not know what alignment either player is, only whether the two players have the same or different alignments. The alignments are Town, Mafia, and Neutral. You may not inspect yourself.

You decided that everyone in the Town was evil, and that justice had to be served. With some assistance, you brought your plan off taking over the Town into action.

Each night you may deliver a poison muffin to a player, killing them. If someone attempts to roleblock you you will feed them a poison muffin instead. You are immune to most normal forms of death at night, however on good word you've been told of one person in the Town that even you are no match for.

I really like closed roles. It's so much scarier this way.

I'm used to mafia games like Town of Salem which is much faster paced. 30 second discussions made it feel more remiss and lynchings were careless. This game actually made me feel immersed, like I was a real stranger trying to survive. However I noticed the extended time provoked people to talk more, something that I wasn't used to. The only part I didn't like was that people felt prompted to continue chatting even when nothing was going on, and in the end there was a lot of fluff and the majority of accusations was merely based on post count.
