since we have a new graphics team now (the old team, namely TOOP, didn't approve this because of aforementioned "circular symmetry", however NVD did like the aura) i am bringing this topic back from the dead
emalton has been also positive on this suggestion (as in, he forwarded it to the graphics team)

I think the idea is good, but the graphic needs to be better. Maybe something like the fly button in BlockWorks?

yeah but the graphics shouldnt lose the "aura" feeling to them, as in no shadows, outlines or anything like that

yeah but the graphics shouldnt lose the "aura" feeling to them, as in no shadows, outlines or anything like that

just because toop leaves doesnt mean this rule doesnt change. every aura is still circular and covers the entire smiley in some way

just because toop leaves doesnt mean this rule doesnt change. every aura is still circular and covers the entire smiley in some way

that wasnt a rule, but rather a preference
and the new devs might have new preferences.
