America lost today. I've never been embarrassed to say that I'm American before.

Republicans now own the house, senate and the supreme court.

It should've been Bernie. He always beat Donald by a lot, but now we need to suffer the consequences.

Thanks DNC.

Re: Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump?

to any of the self-righteous sanders supporters claiming he would have beaten trump based off of doing slightly better in polls during the primaries...

Bernie didn't have months of opposition research on him; Clinton had to handle him with kid gloves to avoid alienating his supporters, and Republicans never took a swing at him. I can easily believe Biden would have been better, and I can even believe that about Warren. But not a Jewish atheist self-avowed socialist.

When Obama was elected, everything was controlled by democrats.

Re: Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump?

Hillary would have won if the public just thought a little bit deeper. a little deeper then the fact that she's a corporatist establishmentarian. I used to think the world could survive a loooong while without a world war. Now I wouldn't be surprised if WW3 occurred within the next decade. //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/neutral People during this election seem to have forgotten about everything that has happened PRIOR in history. Remember how Hitler incited anger in people, unifying them against an "establishment" and finally "improved Germany's relations with other countries" and hooked up with his "budz" Mussolini and due to their "better relations" initiated WW2? Trump getting in bed with Putin and Russia is NOT a good thing. This means that America and Russia could potentially team up in favor of Russia's interests (reclaiming more of the Russian motherland). And while we're at it, why not America too, starting with Mexico? Maybe bomb China to improve the economy? These are unlikely scenarios, but in war, people's goals are always obscure. Russia is already showing this with their 2013 war Crimes in Crimea... -_- Does it make sense? No. War is inherently nonsensical. Hillary's "no fly zone" would be enacted in order to try to maintain peace, and it wouldn't be done by going to WAR with Russia and Syria: the UN would have to approve it, and Russia is in the UN. Russia is not stupid enough to go to war just because they don't want to follow a protocol inhibited in an organization they are literally one of the founding fathers of.

Yes, I (and hopefully otheres) SHOULD acknowledge that Hillary is a barnacle from the netherworld. She's unlikeable, unintelligent, uninspiring, selfish, corporatist, just an ugly human bean. But does that really matter when we could potentially be on the verge of world war 3? o_o I already see the signs... remember how there was a huge technological boom and time of progress in social rights right before each world war? That's happening now. Remember when? Instead of going BACK to these "great" policies like nationalism that resulted in worldwide wars, why don't we LOOK at history and notice the signs instead of falling into this Nazi party rerun?

And I didn't even start talking about America itself. The KKK supports Trump. I repeat, the KKK supports Trump. If this is not a blaring RED LIGHT then I don't know what is. I really do hope this whole time his hate speech was just bait in an effort to pander to middleaged middleamerica uberracists, despite being completely ignorant of the consequences it could have (eg. empowering ididumbs). If he really was so smart, I feel like he would've recognized this consequence - and that's what worries me.

Now I have to actually prepare an escape plan in the event of WW3.

And yes, most of the "typos" in this essay are purposeful - (eg. bean) so don't try to demean me for "poor grammar." Thanks b3b3 :3

Zelda...

just because my arguments happen to fall under a Wikipedian article and a claim in an image doesn't invalidate my point. @_@ Look, I can do the same thing:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reductio_ad_absurdum :3 But seriously, it's true, we really should be taking warning signs, and should be worried. Just read the entirety of my post... I wrote it quick, so it might look like some "blahblah californianana" from 5 feet away but if you zoom in your eyes a bit you'll see they are real concerns. I actually was sorta on your line of thinking until a few weeks ago, when I realized this is a real concern.

Calm down Jesse Ventura. Not everyone is the next Hitler, and not every action made is going to the start of WW3.

If I remember correctly, you called people out for fear mongering. Bit hypocritical, eh?

Would you like Russia to be **** at the US? Making an ally is never not a good thing. That's one less country we have to be eerie of.

Well, Hillary supported going to war in Syria. So...

I'm pretty sure Hillary was funded by an Islamic terrorist group.

Sounds pretty familiar to what some hopefuls are saying now.

Alright, I guess we should make an alliance with ISIS then, since they're an objective good. Oh wait, no, that's stupid. Standing against Putin's totalitarian Russia is more important than creating a shoddy alliance that destabilizes international politics.

Republicans and Democrats switched political leanings throughout the 20th century. The democrats featured in that article come from before Republicans enacted the southern strategy. As for Byrd, "Byrd later said joining the Klan was his 'greatest mistake.' The NAACP gave him a 100% rating on their issues during the 108th Congress." - the article you linked.

When Republicans taut themselves as the "Party of Lincoln", they're taking pride in when they were the progressive party, the party that they aren't today.

The opposite of tolerance is racism and hatred. If you disagree with tolerance, you stand for racism and hatred. Q.E.D.

Linking a wikipedia article about a fallacy doesn't pass as an argument. Fallacies don't make an argument automatically wrong; you need to elaborate yourself.

What about you read it first? Comparing X and Y to Hitler is not an argument either. I wasn't trying to refute or argument anything, as to do that, there first needs to be an argument.

Reductio ad Hitlerum (pseudo-Latin for "reduction to Hitler"; sometimes argumentum ad Hitlerum, "argument to Hitler", or ad Nazium, "to Nazism") is the attempt to invalidate someone else's position on the basis that the same view was held by Adolf Hitler or the Nazi Party, for example: "Hitler believed in eugenics, X believes in eugenics, therefore X is a Nazi.

Reductio ad Hitlerum is a form of association fallacy. The argument is that a policy leads to – or is the same as – one advocated or implemented by Adolf Hitler or the Third Reich and so "proves" that the original policy is undesirable.

I know you love to compare things to Hitler and automatically make them bad, but it doesn't work chap. Repeating it over and over doesn't make it true. Guess what? Calling everything Hitler is not an argument either.
