We have Mount Disappointment, huge country, road trains (yes really), plus a whole lot of pretentious art and buildings and stuff in the cities (I know this because I live in Melbourne, the most artsy-fartsy of them all)

As of now, Germany is finally regaining some nationalism, as far as I know. But throughout history they have been terribly divided, so they really shouldn't be considered the most nationalistic

depends what part of history you're looking at. Most of history they are pretty damn united, considering two major wars, after the second giant war, yeah they were divided. That wasn't a division based on germans though, that was a division of east and west, communism and capitalism.

Too many of the good countries are getting too self-destructive to be nationalistic.
I can't think of a nationalist country, unless maybe somewhere in the middle east.

Well, the two wars aren't really 'most of history'. In the late 1800s, Protestant-Catholic divide pitted Germany against itself. This was followed by an attempt to dissemble Catholicism in Germany, resulting in an uproar. Also, don't forget the rival nationalists within Germany, such as the Bravarians and Austrians, who think that they should neve have been consumed by Germany. They have trouble even defining what countries belong to them. German nationalism didn't even begin until it was developed by a German philosopher in the 19th Century.

During the Nazi regime, nationalism WAS important, but dont forget the Jews that lived IN Germany. Do they not count as Germans? And I'm SURE they were not siding with Hitler.

Also, you can't discount the Berlin wall. They were LITERALLY divided. There was literally a wall that divided them.

Like i said, the Berlin wall wasn't a division of German ideas, it was a division of western countries and eastern countries. Capitalism and Communism, USA and Soviet Union. Germans were very united regardless of the wall, look at when the wall was put up, the effort for Germans on the east to get to the west. The people that stayed in the east were there to protest the eastern bloc. Most of Germany was on the same side, they were divided, but their ideas were mainly the same.

For the other things you said, i won't argue with any of that because i know nothing on the matter.
