Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Re: Gun Dispenser Blocks

Yeah, I agree.

This is not Call of EE, a copy of a shooting game.

This is EE, EVerybody Edits, a platform and building game!

Re: Gun Dispenser Blocks

I think one gun should be toggle-able between 1 or infinite, and you could add ammo blocks that work similarly but without giving a gun. For those of you complaining, this game is a sandbox game for players to build experiences for each other, just read the "What is Everybody Edits?" paragraph under the game screen, don't limit creativity. Not all worlds will become shooters and you could add targets to activate/deactivate objects. What if bullets only traveled a set distance, like three blocks, you'd then have to get close enough to the target (block or player) to kill them. I think a gun block would allow for more world and game options. Also a limited bullet range would prevent sniping and if you cant fire up or down I think it could fit the feel of a 2d platformer. It's fine to not like an idea, just be respectful with your complaints and offer alternatives or solutions to the problems you see.

Anderson, no, it wouldn't. It would allow for something other than run-away-from-players and jump-around for gameplay. I myself am rather bored with simply running from zombies and playing endless mario clones, though a well made map is still okay.

Everybody Edits first version was named "Multiplayer Platformer", not "Multiplayer Shooter".

EE is amazing with the original concept it has: Play and edit worlds in this multiplayer game!

Adding a shoot concept would only ruin the game.

Re: Gun Dispenser Blocks

I'm pretty much forced use WASD, so using A, S, and D to fire would completely break my control scheme.

I am sorry to say that this won't happen. EE is not a shooter game, and will never be one.

Re: Gun Dispenser Blocks

That said, I wouldn't mind a PvP type thing in EE. I see EE as sort of another way to create a game, but with multiplayer features. I think seeing PvP games in EE would be cool. It doesn't have to be guns though. It could be throwing discs at each other or something, idk (you know, like that game valve made, called ricochet).

EE does not need to become a shooter to add a short ranged powerup or sentry turret of some sort. it would just be something to allow more creativity. just think about other platformers with weapons/powerups. Mario, Metriod, Pack-man, and many other games have some sort of weapon/powerup that can turn the tides on the opponents, and many, like Mario and Metroid, could still be considered platformers. I think that, if someone really tried, they could find an appropriate way to fit a short-ranged weapon or powerup in this 2d platformer without a total change in how the game feels. It might also be possible to toggle "friendly fire" (attacking other players)(ability to kill zombies(counted as an enemy)) on/off as well as enemies that could be attacked whether or not you could hurt other players.

what

The argument against it is not that it's unoriginal, I don't think. And I don't see how EE would be similar to call of duty at all, let alone being 'another call of duty'.

Re: Gun Dispenser Blocks

whether you support or reject this subject, logically, because opinions are so split, the game is not likely to add this and is more likely going to stay as it is. I see valid points to add this with a lot of unbacked-up complaints. most arguments are that "the game isn't a shooter", "i don't like this", "this will become a new COD", or "this will end everybody edits". I just wished I saw a valid, backed-up argument for why it shouldn't be added like "adding shooting adds new mechanics to the game and removes some of the fun that comes from the simplistic control style". IS THAT TOO MUCH TO ASK? A VALID ARGUMENT FOR BOTH SIDES? Just so you know, your point would be taken more seriously if you can back up your statement with a flaw or other evidence that supports your statement!
