You are thrust a sprinkly pink card. On the cover, it is coated in blue silver glitter, illuminating your face with moonlight as you gaze upon its simple magnificence. The curled font reads "You will die in a brutal way by 10 days' time." A look of confusion wanders its way across your fear-stricken face, as drops of sweat smear down your forehead. Opening the bright card, you intrude upon an additional fact told on the interior. "The penny is cursed." knowing not what this could mean in considerence with your fortune and it's inconsistent signs, you ponder for a moment. This portent is sure to spell demise for you in the end, but until that occurrence the results will remain unclear. You place the pretty card on the table, then...

ITS RYAN WHO GOT BIT. OKAY?

10 days later, 12:30 am.

Ryan hears a rustling sound and he slowly wakes up. He wipe his head around the dark room, searching for the source of the sound. It was only a mouse, get back to sleep, he thinks. Then, a slight movement behind the desk. Ryan was getting paranoid.
"Hello?" asks Ryan, allowing his voice to shake.
Then suddenly, a dark figure whips out of the shadows and grabs his throat.
Ryan screamed as a knife was pressed against his throat.
"W-what do you want?" asked Ryan, frightfully.
"WHAT DO YOU KNOW ABOUT THE PENNY?" hissed the figure. "The stupid thing, it has caused several deaths over the years and all because of it's invicibility. And now it's cursed. TELL ME WHAT YOU KNOW!"
And Ryan began explaining what had happened to him, from start to finish.
"It's worse than I thought..." muttered he figure. "You know too much."
And with that, the last thing Ryan felt was cold, sharp metal pressing against his throat.
There was a final scream.
The figure vanished.
And there was darkness.

In the morning...

In this situation, I assume "you" means "Ryan". Anyway, Ryan explained he was trying to stop some robbers up ahead and the police drove off after them.
