Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Silver starts to feel like a speck of dust after pondering this for 10 minutes...

And according to PatienceisKey, a speck of dust getting continually smaller...

Re: Does the universe ends or keeps going?

I heard that the universe would stop expanding and then implode. I also heard aliens were going to come and put us in a volcano or something and blow us up with hydrogen bombs. The latter is totally more likely.

"The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents. We live on a placid island of ignorance in the midst of black seas of infinity, and it was not meant that we should voyage far. The sciences, each straining in its own direction, have hitherto harmed us little; but some day the piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality, and of our frightful position therein, that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the deadly light into the peace and safety of a new dark age."

Theoretically, the universe will continue to expand forever. A better question is how could we ever know? I doubt we'll one day find a giant wall out in space.

Obviously you aren't familiar with dimensions.

What he said is mostly irrelevant to dimensions.

Alternate Universe: A universe that is not ours, i.e., a separate one

Some higher dimensions: Have to do with different possible beginnings, endings, branches, and jumping to and fro branches of durations of universes.

PS: This will probably get me into an argument with Twipply.

I think this link may be of use in clearing up some misconceptions.   Hopefully the first paragraph alone should help.

Don't worry about it.   Small or not, you make a difference and are important.

That 'Imagining the Tenth Dimension' video is trash.   Maybe this is better.

Lol, I see you know what I watched. //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/big_smile. I can't remember it that well from when I watched it a year or two back, but it did seem to actually be pretty good.

I'll check out that link.

EDIT: I actually knew all that stuff already, it was explained in the video 'Imagining the Tenth Dimension.' The video said the stuff about the flatlanders and even the guy who came up with the theory, and I think I figured that it was the same for us and higher dimensions. (Maybe that was said too, I can't remember...) But whatever. I'd also take the explaining the 10th dimension guy to be legit and know what he's talking about, as he has created right around 200 videos, if I'm not mistaken, on the topic. All a good amount of time each.

The link I gave before is about the dimensions theorised in string theory.
The video you watched is about a fantasy.
They are not the same.

The best source I can find says he's a composer / sound designer.   And yes, that source is terrible, I hope that tells you something.   He's not a scientist or mathematician.   He offers nothing to support his claims.   What he states as truth is not accepted by the scientific community, and in fact goes directly against leading theories.   As far as I can tell, it's entirely trash made up specifically to try and make money from book sales.   It does not apply to the real world.

Re: Does the universe ends or keeps going?

Well the universe is expading but gradually slowing down until it stops,or does it?Many say it is spading, meaning it has a size or shape.Though others think that space is space, which it goes on forever into....,space.And If it does keep expanding, then what is beyond the point of the boundary of the universe? Many theories have been made, but not enough evidence to conclude the fact of it ending spatially or going on for ever.

Obviously you aren't familiar with dimensions, either. There can be infinite universes that expand forever if each exist in different dimensions. That, of course, assumes that you don't choose to believe the one of the millions of theories regarding dimensions that your video explained. Nothing we know about higher dimensions is concrete, and so they certainly could explain infinite, unending universes.

Re: Does the universe ends or keeps going?

If one believes the universe can be created from nothing, surely one could assume it will end as nothing.

However, a very poetic and awesome theory says that we are inside the universe, and of the universe. Your left arm contains part of a star, and your right arm contains part of a star several light-years away, just as an example. This is like cosmos-recycling -- reusing matter. Nothing is truly destroyed. The universe is matter and the absence of matter - nothing more, nothing less.

To say the universe will end is to say matter will end. I don't see a reason to believe the Law of Conservation of Matter only exists temporarily. Nor do I know of something that could attempt to break this law.

So my answer is no. It keeps going.

But, who knows. I highly doubt anyone here is a cosmologist, even though we all pretend to be. //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/smile

Yeah, well, you know that's just like, uh, your opinion, man.

A. You must of been interested to even click on this thread.

B. I think you may care if you found out the universe would end a couple of days (I'm not saying it will, it was just a simple example)

C. A nerd is some one who is obsessed with this sort of stuff, so obsessed that they are basically socially impaired, none of us are socially impaired, as we are on a forum.

D. You don't have to be a "nerd" to be interested in something.
Before you quote me saying "It was a joke" or something on that spectrum, it was not funny, but however just stupidly frustrating.

Jokes on him - without these "nerds" he would've probably died of malaria or the flu by now.

Pondering about the universe is not a bad thing at all. You don't even need to be a straight-A student. It's human nature. So, if you want to say all humans are nerds, and you are not a nerd, you are not human. Kill the alien !

Maybe this entire universe is the composition to a single small atom/molecule in a extremely larger dimension or universe with life...
Of which we're grown so complex overtime due to being undisturbed as a small atom/molecule but could end at any moment if a light gust of wind or form of energy from that larger dimension or universe disrupts us...
How insignificant we are compared to the bigger dimension...

...Or maybe I'm just sleepy. Goodnight everyone.

That's like saying all the quarks are all universes. It doesn't really make sense. At all.
