Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

I just recently found out about wasd being better for some minis, I wonder if being left-handed/right-handed gives an advantage in console games, as they may be able to send more inputs into the game if, for example, someone who is right-handed is faster with pressing buttons on a Gamecube controller than someone who is left-handed.

People = are
Person = is
1 in 10 people is? Lol.
"Is" isn't referring to "people," it's referring to "1."
Lol, good luck getting any proof on that.
1 in 10 people is left-handed? Does that sound right (no pun intended) at all?
How 'bout "1 person, with all of my cheeseburgers, ate it," or would it be "1 person, with all of my cheeseburgers, ate them?"
People are, a person is.
EDIT: In response to your most recent post:
You can use the joystick just fine on controllers right? Same with lefties and the buttons.

Just because something doesn't sound right, doesn't mean it isn't
I have no idea how to respond to the cheeseburgers thing?
The last part is talking about the cb, not the person eating them.
With "1 in 10 people is LH," "is" IS NOT referring to people. I'm not saying ""people" is left handed" I'm saying "one is left handed."
Here's another way to say it:
"One person in ten, is left-handed."
When I say "one in ten people is left-handed," I mean "one person in ten people is left-handed."
edit:
muffinator was right about "1/10 people are left-handed," when you say a fraction, it's always plural. I was just using it to shorten "one in ten," but I stll should have used "are."

1/10 people are left handed.
1 in 10 people is left handed.
1 out of 10 people is left handed.
Well, that's my understanding, anyway.
On-topic:I'm right-handed.

I have nothing wrong with "1 person out of ten is." That is different though.
Here's going back to 3rd grade English. Look what you've made me do:
People is the subject and 1/10 is an adjective. (Numbers are adjectives, same as "4 Cheeseburgers were eaten," cheeseburgers is the subject, 4 describes it) Now, the verb ALWAYS describes the noun, and the verb in this sentence is "to be." We conjugate this as "are" because this is 3rd person plural, not "is" and third person singular.
Denial of this is acceptance of: "4 cheeseburgers is"
Got it?

People is not the subject, one is, I'm saying that that one person is left-handed.
1/10 may not be the subject when you say "1/10 people are left-handed" but one is the subject in "one in ten people is left handed."
I asked my english teacher today, she said it's:
1/10 people are left-handed.
One in ten people is left-handed.
What the? If that is a legitimate thing that your English Teacher said, he/she should be fired.
I will use "One in ten people is/are left handed" in all of my examples.
Reasons:
1. IF "one" is the subject, where is the verb? Wouldn't "people" be the Direct Object? Then why is there no verb before "people?"
2. IF "one" is the subject, and IF "people" is the DO, then why is "people" plural (in this sense, of course. [Meaning not as in "The Inca People"]). Shouldn't it be singular?
3. IF "1/10 people are left-handed" is correct, why on earth would "One in ten people is left handed" not be?
3, continued: Put it this way, What part of speech is "in." How about "out" and "of" (The spoken form of "/".) Guess what? They're all prepositions. So why on earth would it change.
3, examplified:
If you deny the above statements for 3, consider this:
My cheeseburger is tasty.
His cheeseburger are tasty.
Do you deny that one of these is incorrect?
4. IF "one" is the subject, then why is it not?
Do you accept the statement:
One cheeseburger is tasty.
Yes, you do.
How about:
One is tasty.
When using the word "one" for the same purpose. The second statement is incorrect.
You are left with nothing to deny...
"People" is plural, so the correct linking verb is "are". If you say "person" instead of "people", the subject becomes singular and you may use your "is".
Correct:
One in ten people are left-handed. One person out of ten is left-handed.
While I'm being technical, people who can write with both hands are ambidextrous.
Yeah, well, you know that's just like, uh, your opinion, man.

1.
2.
3. 1/10 is an adjective to people, it is saying that one tenth of people are left-handed. When I say "One in ten people is left-handed", I'm not saying that an amount of the group of people are left-handed, I'm saying that One person, out of ten, is left-handed. to be does not agree with people in "One in ten people is left-handed", it is supposed to agree with "one" which is the subject, while in 1/10, the subject is "people", as "1/10" is modifying "people"
4.
IDK how to respond to the others correctly to back my argument, I may add more to this post later.
The direct quote from the notes is "At least one person in ten is left-handed" so I may be wrong, but I still don't see why one does not imply person.
