Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

"How can you be exceptional, if Superman doesn't fit in?" - Me
Kinda makes me think of mainstream music artists who think they are revolutionising the music industry or whatever other crap they come up with.
Also that one is being added to the first post.

Why is no one posting? I'm sure everyone has really cool quotes to share.
"I should plant my tree and let it grow through the fury." - Slug from Atmosphere, in the song God Loves Ugly.
Another quote from the same song, "Life is like a bowl of melted ice cream."
Melted ice cream is still delicious, it's just ugly and messy.

Ones by awesome people
"To give anything less than your best is to sacrifice the gift" ~Steve Prefontaine, out of nowhere running legend.
"Our virtues and our failings are inseparable, like force and matter. When they separate, man is no more." ~Nikola Tesla, the Greatest Inventor, scientist, or engineer to have ever lived, as well as the humblest and most giving.
"Do the right thing. It will gratify some people and astonish the rest." ~Mark Twain, One of the most famous authors in history and is so able to detach himself from basic customs that he probably wasn't even human.
"I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear." ~Nelson Mandela, the most awesom-est president ever.
"Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow. The important thing is not to stop questioning." ~Albert Einstein, theoretical physicist.
"I never found a companion that was so companionable as solitude." ~Henry David Thoreau, whose every single word would fit on this post as an awesome quote.
Ones by people I don't really care about
"Carpe Diem" ~Horace
"The only people with whom you should try to get even are those who have helped you." ~John E. Southard
"If anything were possible, life would have no point." ~Me
I quite feel like this is exactly what gives life a point, the struggle to do something, though hard, but possible.

To build something new, you must tear down what's already in its place. (From Sig)
Alright. But to make something better you have to build off of what has already been done.
Echo! wrote:Fdoou wrote:But what about my dying grandparent, or divorces?
When I read that I thought "What about my brother and my dad?" Yes, I still think of them. But that's very different to being alive.
So, yes, I agree with Fdoou :]
Family stay eternal meaning you can't break a branch from a family tree.
You're using the wrong axe.

what if the aim of the race was to lose?

All to expand the consciousness that is you. The universe has an interesting sense of irony, in that you are the universe experiencing itself - all you are is a thought"
This is the idea that captivates me as an atheist.
Well, I gotta say, this is the idea that captivates me as a Christian. (THIS IS NOT A RELIGIOUS ARGUMENT, I?M JUST SAYING SOMETHING DAMMIT).
Also, gotta love Ender?s game. Read Speaker for the Dead and no others. Above all else, do not read Xenocide.
ONTO MY QUEST TO DISCREDIT ALL LEGIT SELF-QUOTES!!!! (I?ve already done a few above, also I'm not gonna bother with the OP, I dont even know if those are original, plus I didnt read them)
"The world is a great place, and you normally want to feel "great." Everyone has a different opinion. Some may think having fun is "great," while others may thing that pain is "great." However, feeling great always feels great. Since everyone has a soul, why not spread the feeling? Everyone has a chance to have or spread greatness in their or other lives, no matter what."
Here are my corrections, emboldened:
"The world is a sucky place, and you always want to feel "great." Everyone does. All think having fun is "great," and others may thing that pain is better than even worse pain (this is why people cut themselves, kiddies!) Feeling great always feels great. Since everyone has a soul, why not spread the feeling? HOW??? IDK!?!?!?! Everyone has a chance to have or spread greatness in their or other lives."
Your youthful optimism is impressive but naïve.
"The only thing to make one impatient is thinking about what he or she is waiting for."
Well the only way to remember to do something is by?.remembering to do it. Good luck forgetting everything! Oh, and impatience isn?t really a bad thing anyway. It?s more ambition and anticipation (depending on what it is you?re waiting for) than it is desire.
?what if the aim of the race was to lose??
Then you accomplished your goal, but you didn?t win the race.

You have a point. Sometimes I do go into ? LOVE, PEACE, AND FRIENDSHIP ? too deeply. I don't find that post too mature at the moment.

"The world is a sucky place
The world can't be described as anything unless put in contrast to your expectations, so in other words the way the world is described is opinionated and fully controlled by you, but these opinions are perceived as fact. See, pain is just disappointment. It's the heartbreaking feeling from the unexpected absence of good feelings.

Pretty much the whole of Eyedea's discography are wise words.
Also prolly changing the one in my sig now; been a while.
EDIT: I also got rid of a couple, because I didn't like them.

Or this one from my school-friend:
"Everything has an end, only the sausage has two."
