Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Even if what someone wrote, it's meant to be enjoyed in that moment, and doesn't have to fit.     Please learn to appreciate the smaller things in life, like a kid writing a made up story about his favorite cartoon, then come back to me for meaningful discussion.

Children cannot be blamed for issues in the world. Most children do not develop the mental capacity for abstract thought until they are older. Children who write for fun are one thing. Adults who write fan-fiction are the ones that concern me. If you are over the age of 21 and you really have nothing better to do with your life than write crude fan fiction I pity you.

Re: Fan-Fiction

I bet that real money can be made from good fan-fiction, provided they get the proper rights to write noncanon material and publish it.   What do you care what an older person does in their freetime?   I thought you only cared about you.   I'm not blaming them for issues in the world, I used the child as an example because young kids are more likely to write fanficiton than adults.   Fan-ficition isn't a world issue, let alone copywrite infringement.
If you strip the idea of fan-fiction down, it's really a beautiful and wonderful form of admiration for the creator.   Even if a fanfic story was really bad, who cares?   As long as it means something to the person who wrote it, who cares?
Obviously you do, but no one here seems to care what you think, that's not my opinion, just my observation.

Requested a lock, because though I know I am right, no one ever wants to admit to agreeing with me. Understandable since me being honest with myself comes off as pretentious. Whatever. YOLO.

Except I don't think anyone here is agreeing with you.   You post something about a subject, someone gives their opinion, you basically respond with "Your wrong cause I philosophy"

It gets annoying after a while.

Re: Fan-Fiction

And eliminating fan fiction isn't going to do anything about it. Nothing at all. Zero. Zilch. Nada.

EDIT:Dang, I got super ninja'd. I was replying to this post:

Every day someone writes a fan-fiction, someone in some part of the world is dying of starvation or injustice.

Actually my post had everything to do with your comment. I am against fan-fiction because I think it is a waste of time. You said it might be a waste of time, but it is not bad like genocide or rape. I am saying it is, because by writing fan-fiction you are ignoring those same contemporary issues. While one sits back and writes a useless fan-fiction, someone in some part of the world is being subjective to extreme violence. So the question is, do you continue to write fantasy stories, or wake up and take part in the world around you?

This argument works just as well if you prefix every instance of "fan fiction" with "argumentative topic(s) against ". //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/tongue

EDIT: Oh is it time to lock this already? Okay.
