Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

I agree. And like you said in another post, this community never seems to be satisfied. That is why this game is "dying".
Honestly, if the game didn't crash, it's alive.

That's true, but we can still make it last longer. People often forget about this, and end up considering Everybody Edits "dead" or "dying" despite the fact that they are partly the fault for it.
If someone doesn't play a game, you cant just blame them for the game doing poor. It's whoever made or working on the game's responsibility to try to keep people interested and peak the interest of new players. You can't just put the blame on the community,

He's not blaming it on the community. It's part of their fault that they don't like it.

If they don't like it, what responsibility do they have to help it? nooblord
The commumity CAN improve everybody edits. Advertising, promos, et cetera of the game, if done properly, will result in total restoration.

and that's the responsibility of the developers. we are in no way obligated to co operate with this crap
Then why did I see you the other day?

No one is obligated to do anything with the game. It's an old game and like all games, it will come to an end. I don't see a reason why I should dwell on the fact that nothing has been done with it. I still see great worlds and talk to some interesting people every day and that's good enough for me. I think everyone should quit their **** about nothing being done, and quit being so negative. Instead why don't you take what has been done to it, and make something great out of it.

Unfortunately there is flaw to that. Games don't "die". PlayStation games, XBox games, et cetera will forever engrave within your soul. RuneScape, a massive MMORPG began in the 2001 and is still active. There are thousands of never-ending games out there. This thread is to shed light on Everybody Edits and let players know Everybody Edits is doing fine.

Is that not what I said? I said eventually all games will "die" but EE is fine, it's all in everyone's head that the game is going to end soon...

What you're saying is the case for lots of games today, but Everybody Edits is different: it's a sandbox game. Almost all levels are by the players, and without them, we would just have Benjaminsen's, RPGMaster2000's, MrShoe's, and MrVoid's levels. If there were less than fifty players who actively played, I'm sure that the game would die quickly. The reason this game still exists is because of the community. Without it, there would be pretty much no levels. At all.
It's whoever made or working on the game's responsibility to try to keep people interested and peak the interest of new players.
Like Itsmeandersonlol said, if we get this game popular enough, we can support this game. Even if it's not our responsibility, that doesn't mean we can't do anything about it. We may not be able to make new updates, but we can make new levels, crew, contests, and organizations. Like I said above, it's a sandbox game, so it's partly our game.
You can't just put the blame on the community,
Also note that I said "partly" the fault, as I do agree that it's not a very good choice to go months without updates. I used to think that the community was 100% the reason this game is going "downhill" is because of the community, but after talking to MFL, I kind of agree with that part. I'm trying to get the point across that the players' aren't supporting a game made just for them, instead of blaming it on MrShoe. That's not my intention, and I think most of us are tired of going so long without our precious updates and know it. Unfortunately, there's not much to do until we get a response from Cape Copenhagen. We can't really convince MrShoe to make new updates, but we can convince the community to support this game until then (if we cooperate good enough).

Even if it was only 50 players I think the game would still go on (given that whoever owns the game still pays for it). Those 50 players would stick around for a while. It would almost be like a private server.

Well, it's almost been 11 months since the last update, and I have seen no promotion of the game coming from the people in charge of the game. The population of the game can't go up for that long with 0 promotion. The players shouldn't feel obligated to promote the game, besides, by making maps, that is our way of promoting the game, which I've seen people doing these 11 months.
Instead, they stopped updating, making it feel abandoned, and idk if I'm the only one who's noticed, but there have been more and more bots running rampant throughout the game without check from the admins. You just cannot expect people to make decent maps on a regular basis, promote the game to external forces on a regular basis, teach new players how to make better maps, while leading an independent life that is not absorbed in a game. If anything, it is only a very small part of the community that have a small part in the decay from ee.

Lol the game just had a server crash and players don't know it's up.

OK, so considering that there's 50 active players, and they're not all online at the same time, let's do some math... There would almost always be less than 50 players online. Because of that, there would be very few levels in the lobby. Players would probably get tired of playing the same levels, so they won't have much to play, and not much time to burn. Chris would not get much money, and may have to stop supporting Everybody Edits.

Well we don't HAVE 50 people online.
That's why this game isn't "dead"
And 50 people online still is alive and well.
Think about it. 50 people is alot.
Offline
You people are being ridiculous. Right now, it says 220 online.... That's not 220 players, that's 220 people on at the moment the page loaded. Even if it said 50 online, 50 people online at any given time is still pretty good, especially for a four year old game that hasn't been updated in almost a year.
I still see the online count get into the 400's, every once in a while, the 5 or 6 hundreds. That's alot of people online in one singular moment, and you guys are all b!7ching for no reason because it's not the exact number you want to see, or because that player you like 2 years ago no longer plays.
This game is in a decline, but it is not dead. Shut up and either play or dont. Arguing nonstop about it is just going to make the game look bad and prevent more people from playing (seriously, have you ever gone to a forum for a game before getting too involved into to see what the community you'd be surrounding yourself with would be like?)

I'm not arguing. I'm simply denying everyone who says this game is dead. It's my job here.

Then you shouldn't have to worry about defending yourself here
Finally someone understands! I knew I wasn't the only one who pays attention when there are 600+ players online.
I wasn't defending myself. :\
600 players is a good amount. I think that 2000 players is a little too much (spam).

I dont think number of players online says if ee is dead or no, for me, a real dead game is not more playable. EE will die with a permanently crash probably.
This is a false statement.
