Why not just put two ID 1 switches and an ID 1 gate/door?

If you are making 2 levels in the same amount of space with switch gates/doors, some blocks might overlap.

But those gates/doors only have 1 ID. What Anch means, is that a gate/door has more than one ID, and as long as one switch with one of the IDs is on, then the gate/door will be activated. Not sure how they would make the graphic for this though.

Why are you assuming that everything is going to have ID's now?
The only reason switches are gaining ID's is because it is actually USEFUL.
also @ other people -   The switches will still function as normal switches. They will probably be set to ID 1 by default, meaning all your levels containing them will function exactly as they do now. Also, so what if the graphics changed? It has to in order for them to put a number on it without them looking messy.

I can confirm that this is true. MrShoe is no longer able to work on EE, so he gave the game to NVD.
Not sure whose names have been leaked yet, but both NVD and Jawapa are admins, along with 1 other person. There will also be four guardians, including koto, and myself.
