Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

I'll be honest, I just wanna do minimap art. Can barely do a hookjump
If anyone had issues uploading worlds, a change I've just made should fix it.
Plus it's now acessible from https://archive.offlinee.com and not just https://archivee.offlinee.com. smh me for breaking the former link
I'll try to get work on user authentication for world upload going sometime.
MartenM wrote:Could be me, but the download link seems to be broken for worlds?
Couldn't download any world either.
Should be fixed now. (also an stealth update, will post more on that later this week or so)
Joeyjoey65 wrote:world portals are still not fixed, epic fail by luke
As far as I can tell, LukeM wasn't directly involved in either EEO or the EE Web Archive. He was responsible for ArchivEE, but ArchivEE has an option to group worlds together with world portals intact.
So, the blame would either be with EEO for its barebones implementation of world portals, or the EE Web Archive for not having the advanced functionality to group worlds into a single file yet.
EE Web Archive internally uses a C# library maintained by Luke to interact with the ArchivEE database.
I might make a pull request to that library if I find some free time.
Small update:
- Now at https://archive.offlinee.com
- Worlds are laid out in a neater way
- Initial load speed improvements

Here's an idea for the doomers; if EE! isn't successful, sunk cost fallacy dictates we get a couple years of gameplay out of it anyway.
Most of the current "community" are in their twenties. Likelihood is we'll have moved on before EE! dies, and probably before it peaks.
At this point the entire community is a bunch of twenty-somethings feeling nostalgic for a game they played when they were kids. Curious about plans to bring new players.

also, i reach last purple mini in ctm 4, and that mini is too hard for meYes sorry, this is my fault, I made a couple mistakes when converting from my full database download to the compressed version I released for ArchivEE.
I've been super busy and haven't had time to fix it, but might do soon since I've just finished uni!
Can you include the player.smiley field in this? Pretty please?
Currently I have to get a player's smiley data directly from the source, even with caching it's slow and why sometimes loading a player's page might take longer than expected :P
I am not sure if it's possible to display roles in a CREW but that would be pretty neat.
It is possible, it's just that I forgor 💀
For the home screen it could be pretty epic to give a selection of random worlds based on plays / likes / favs or creation date.
This would be awesome but the hard part is defining the exact criteria for what worlds should be shown.
I'm overwhelmed with work and personal stuff (ironic considering the post above) and likely won't have the time to implement these suggestions myself right now.
But I'm very happy this got actually used by y'all and people found it fun :)
A web viewer for Everybody Edits world and player data.
- LukeM, for creating ArchivEE itself which is where most of the data is pulled
- SirJosh, for hosting, the minimap drawing tool, and answering a LOT of questions
- Jesse, miou/Atilla, Yonom and Gosha, for helping with PlayerIO DB stuff and other questions
(I might have forgotten a few people, nag me if you're one of them)

If there are people who are desperate to play an old flash game, you think they'd be willing to download it. With that point aside, as of yet, there are no Flash Player emulators that support AS3 to the required degree. You could theoretically stream an instance of Flash Player to browsers and forward mouse and keyboard events, but that would be fairly expensive.
It would be an utter waste of time to rewrite the Flash client from scratch when the game hardly reached 100 players while it was still up and running.
Which is why I think it would be safer to just remake the game in HTML5 (if I'm reading your message right). I think HTML5 is more cost efficient so I'd see that being a reasonable option. Although you restating that the game hardly reached 100 players makes me wonder once more as to why people are trying with new Everybody Edits "revivals" like EEU and EE! still, seeing as it will probably go in the same direction as Everybody Edits did in its last years unfortunately.
"just remake the game in HTML5" isn't that simple. It's a rewrite.
With that point aside, as of yet, there are no Flash Player emulators that support AS3 to the required degree.
Could the WebAssembly-based stuff do it someday?

Aight chaps you heard her. I’m forbidden from locking so I want a good, clean discussion with plenty of insight.
I’ll start: people have discussed publishing the game on Steam or etc., but the 30% cut platforms like that take is way too rough for a tiny game studio. Idk if EE ever had an application that automatically pulled the latest game files from the server, but EE! would probably do its own little independent program if they chose to make an installer/portable at all.
Is using Javascript game engines or some WebAssembly witchery viable? EE could still be played on the browser that way
