Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

I am not getting my hopes up with EE! anymore. The radio silence doesn't make me feel that the game is in a good state. I still hope that they'll drop an announcement on the discord one day, but the chances are getting slimmer everyday.

So the staff have essentially stated that they're cutting all means of contact from the community and that we're not going to get updates, and that the development has been halted.

So, goodbye, EE community. It has been nice playing EE, EEU and speculating about EE!, but it's most likely not coming now.

There have been no news for a huge time already and I start to feel that the whole EE series are just permanently dead.

Basically a game that gives you complete freedom to build your own levels or art or whatever you want and share them with the community, and you can complete sets of featured community levels (campaigns) to earn rewards.

Please don't say "EEU", "EE", "EEO", "EECM" or anything with "Everybody Edits" in the name or Geometry Dash.

I tried PW but there the admins ban you for 41D just for saying a bad word, and there is almost no freedom, and godmode is only in the admin panel.

Platform Racing 2 or 3 might suit what you're looking for. It's not the same kind of game, but if you're looking to build or play levels, it's pretty good for that.

Maybe one day, someone will mod EEO to become Online again. Until that day comes, we must sadly accept the fact that EE is dead.

Isn't EEO just a level file player? Where's the fun in building levels so you can just get files and share them on discord, and not via the game itself?

You must have never played Mario Maker before

I absolutely did play mario maker. There you got a level browser and you could play and comment on each one, or use an ID to play a level.
EEO is literally just a file player. It has no comments or level browsers.

PW has an extremely OP admin panel so if you're not an admin you feel like you're being constantly restricted.

GT is... well owned by Ubisoft

While EE! is cool and all, there is just that sort of thing to the original EE which is magical and no "sequel" can really bring it back in it's fullest.

The thing is that EE gave me a strong "nostalgic" feeling. The feeling of "nostalgic" where the Internet wasn't just a bulletin board for corporations, but rather a space where everyone could unleash their creativity, with some major hubs being Geocities, Kongregate, Armorgames, Newgrounds, etc... Geocities is down completely, Kongregate is just an archive now, Armorgames is also just an archive, and Newgrounds isn't what it used to be. Those times where forums were THE thing and super popular, and flash games were the peak of the internet, NOT Facebook.

The "blocky" font and the 8bit font (found in menus and stuff) were truly wonderful, and actually are suitable to be used in a game unlike "corporate fonts" like Gotham.

And EEU? Well, font was gone, 8 bit textures were gone, edit codes were gone (it had "edit zones" which are like locks in growtopia), nobody was ever on chat like on EE, and it just didn't have the nostalgia spirit that was so much missing.

EE also was "welcoming", the "Thank you for playing", while being just a phrase, meant so much more when it was presented by a talking smiley in a community-created colorful world.

What we can currently play:
- EEU. Sorry, but it didn't really catch on me because it just wasn't active and had the original spirit missing.
- EECM. While it IS EE and playable, the English is so broken and it looks and plays like it could break at any time.
- EEO. It is literally just a level player for EE. There isn't campaigns, gems, energy, chat, public edits, etc that made the game so much fun. It was called "Everybody Edits" after all, not "Only you edit and then share".

I seriously wish that EE! just had the spirit of EE. EE was a wonderful game.

I WILL play EE!, as long as it gets at least 450 of 1000 EENPs (Everybody Edits Nostalgia Points) from my rating system.
EENPs are earned by "filling in the EE gap", as in not making me sad that EE is dead.

As far, EEU has earned 150 EENPs, as it replaced every single graphic that I remember with HD variants. That's not how I remember EE.
EEO has earned 342 EENPs, as it does simulate EE, but it is essentially just an EE world player. No gems nor energy nor online nor chat nor anything...
EECM has earned 650 EENPs as it does simulate EE quite good, but it has terrible grammar and no shop nor gems nor stuff, only like, accounts?

A perfect score, 1000 EENPs is *only* awarded to the original EE, because well, it is EE. If you wanted to keep the 1000 EENPs, you shouldn't have shut down EE.
An almost-perfect score, 985 EENPs is *only* awarded to 1:1 copies of EE with few, minor changes.
To get above 850 EENPs, most of the old smileys and textures must be left intact, without any redesign.

Here are some tips to make EE! get the 450 EENPs:
- Keep the old EE fonts intact in some way. Even through a toggle.
- Don't use minimalism. Never.
- Keep the old layouts.

I am sorry to invent a rating system just for EE, but I just don't want to play EEU at all. It just doesn't do it. It just kept the small core of EE which is the worlds, but nothing else.

So we've gone from Flixel Walker to Platform Sandbox to Everybody Edits to Everybody Edits Offline, and EEO's successor has gone from UnitEE to Everybody Edits Universe and now back to Everybody Edits! Hopefully this will put a stop to this chain of madness. If not, we'll need a timeline chart and we'll end up like this xkcd comic:

edit: there's also Multiplayer Platformworld I think. I forgot about that one.

possibly important question: Will any part of Everybody Edits Universe be open-sourced like Everybody Edits Offline/Legacy was?

There is LITERALLY a xkcd for everything.

I think that a lot of people are forgetting that EE was a dying game. It had outlived every expectation. which is great! However, simply making a 1:1 clone with some new features tacked on won't do the trick. Unless you want to play EE all by your self. Without the nostalgia glasses on, EE is quite a.. boring game? For example, there are no music tracks or interaction sounds.

EE! needs to be a NEW game that takes inspiration from the old but moves on from the past and tries to modernize the game.
There are going to be changes some of us won't like, but hopefully also features that we could never even have had in EE.

2B55B5G TNG wrote:

But for me, EE! gives no freedom or combination or whatsoever, just grass, that’s it. I doubt they’ll even add basic blocks tbh

That's quite some speculation, we have probably not even seen the full asset range yet.
I imagine that EE! will make sure there will be plenty of blocks to build with at some point.

We do NOT want modernization. "mOdErN" themes are already on 99.9% websites. YouTube, Reddit, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, DA, name it yourself.
There are already lists of sites that still have the "older" themes, which keep being shorter and shorter.
People have ALWAYS hated those "modern", bland-looking themes. I was disappointed when I saw the EEU's design and saw what was the 8 bit font become.

And see the oversimplification trend. Many companies have moved on from colorful, creative logos to just bland ones. Roblox, Twitter (which went to literally a blue shadow of a bird), Reddit, etc.

4587. It isn't a special number, AT ALL. I'd rather want a number that has some meaning.

As webpages just keep turning into "new, modern" designs that prefer minimalism instead of user friendliness. For an example, see images of 2008 youtube vs what is it now. For another one, compare old.reddit.com to new.reddit.com.

EE made me relax and feeded my nostalgia needs with the 8bit font and the "old" type layout. But now, it is just nothing. Literally nothing. All we got is EEU without any sort of shops or the lot of worlds that filled EE, and only plans of EE! which seems like it's going to be the "new" design with HD icons and the "modern" fonts instead of the "classic" ones like Verdana or the 8bit font that EE used.
Don't get me wrong, the game itself for sure will be good, but I miss the "old" style of webpages and games that EE has used. Not every game has to have HD everything. I liked the pixel-y smileys and didn't really like EEU's design of new ones.

Also, writing this post literally made me cry of nostalgia in front of my PC.

And every teacher is too. But yet, because our government has turned into a communist dictatorship, they closed the borders of every subdistrict for 3 weeks.  It's week 2 now and it doesn't seem that they'll open schools after this lock ends.

Who else is just straight up tired of it too?

What lol
Just use random.org

I am sorry for gravedig, but to just let others know, random.org has a HIDDEN currency system. When you run out of currency or get in the negatives, the whole site will lock up for you. You won't even know about it until you get the message that you do not have enough bits to just generate a number.

The currency works as follows:
- Generating ANYTHING will consume "bits" - the name of the currency.
- Each day, 200000 bits is refilled for free, up to a cap of 1 million.
- To exceed the cap or to skip the waiting time, you have to pay. Bits are not that cheap, you have to buy $10 worth of them at least with each dollar being a million bits.
- Using the "number list" tool where it generates a number of random strings will eat up a TON of your bits, about 600k per use.
- You can go into negative balances. It only doesn't let you generate if you have 0 or negative bits, so if you use a particularly demanding generator, you can end up with negative millions which will either take up $150 or 2 years to refill.
- There is no link on the main page to the bit checking page. The link is only shown when you get locked from generating due to a negative balance.
- It lets you search for other IP's balances and even gift them bits.

I don't see why a number generator needs to run on a complicated currency system.
