Official Everybody Edits Forums

I used to play EE around 2013 and left it in 2015. I love to remember the countless worlds that i've played and all of the interesting creations that have been made in the game. Pixel art, zombie worlds, roleplay worlds, hotels, RPGs and etc. It was so much fun. EE was such a fun game. I've chatted and learned new stuff with so many people there. I'm happy and thankful that my friend introduced me to this game that was a big part of my childhood. After i left i used to sometimes comeback for a bit and see how the game was going. I love the game and it's sad to think it's going to be shutdown eventually.

But what happened to EE? How did it die? Was it a gradual and inevitable process or was it caused by problems that the game had (like technical issues)? Was it something with the community? Was it toxic? Bad? Bored of the game?

In short, why did it die? I'd love to hear a great deal of detail about the history of the game and why it died. I've never really participated in the forums when i played the game so i don't know a lot of stuff about developers and the history of the game.
