Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

portals above ID 999

They're literally already functional as it is now; I can place them with a bot and they work.
The only thing that would need to be changed is the menu where you type the ID and stuff. Can be capped at 999999999 since it's supported that high and it's high enough you'll never need more and it feels less arbitrary [to the common person] than 2147483647/4294967295 (assuming that's the actual highest supported amount, which makes sense).

Re: portals above ID 999

Yeah, we should also soon be able to use ranges from 0 to 18446744073709551615, which is the maximum value for an unsigned 64-bit integer, because why not?

Re: portals above ID 999

No that's silly. Let's cap them off at 9,999 since that means one portal ID per nine blocks in a huge world. Nobody making a functional level would need more than that.

They don't have a cap. Why would you want to cap them?

The better question is why are they capped at 999 now?

that's... a little excessive.
is 32 bits not enough for you?

high portal IDs have two uses:
Better portal organization. I can say that portals that are ID 1-99999 are for one thing, then 100000-199999 another, then have a subgroup of 110000-119999 inside that group, etc.
The fact that you can see portal IDs with inspect. I can use a high portal ID to do something with that.

That would just be confusing.

You would need to shrink those digits down even further which wouldn't look god.

That block doesn't look very good when covered in numbers in my opinion.

Re: portals above ID 999

These big ids for portals are useless for normal players, but not for bot makers

Re: portals above ID 999

Higher ID numbers would also benefit people who make story worlds, or worlds with complicated switch systems

Pokémon Apex is a refreshingly adult take on the Pokémon universe, grounded in reality and full of real world problems, in which you play a young boy who finds himself able to travel to a strange world full of powerful demons called Pokémon.

A well crafted fan game created by Nathan Gunzenhauser, Pokémon Apex is an adult take on the classic catch ’em all gameplay of Pokémon. That’s not ‘adult’ as in violence and nudity (although there is some swearing), it’s adult in the sense the story themes that it addresses, with you playing a high schooler who’s mother and father have separated, and who escapes the drudgery of day to day life by playing video games with his best friend.

Throughout the game you discover that you can cross between worlds to the strange demon (or Pokémon) infested world and discover there is a dark cult hell bent on destroying both worlds. It’s up to you to step up, catch some Pokémon and take on the dark cult before they do too much harm. It’s a fun adventure, and a great twist on the traditional Pokémon gameplay.
