Well she DID give an enormous list of colors, in the BBCode page, you only list Red and Blue, I think. Not only that, she gave codes that weren't put into the forums, which is nice.

Maybe put the codes into the forums that she listed and didn't work

I keep getting this error:

"The following errors need to be corrected before the message can be posted:
You are not allowed to use img tags"

Similar thing happens if I try and use the url tag. Right now, I'm guessing it might be because I have thus far made 0 posts on this forum and you might have a block for that reason to hinder advertisers and the like? I don't know...

Edit: Yup. It was because I had 0 posts. Once I reported this and gained a post I was able to use the img tag.

How To Use BBCode

Listen up, forumers of all ages, because I'm here to tell you about BBCode.

"What is BBCode?" you cry. Fear not, brave warrior. I will tell you what BBCode is.

BBCode, simply put, is what makes your forum posts all pretty and nice-looking. Sure, you can use the buttons inside the post editor, but maybe you just think it would be faster to type it. I don't know.

To use BBCode, you put a tag around the text you're planning to change. Tags use [brackets].

Every ending tag has a forward slash after the opening bracket.

I've organized each part into spoilers for the sake of not having a wall of text:

▼ Altering text

To italicize, otherwise known as emphasize or weird sideways leaning text you use the following:

[i]your text here[/i]
OR
[em]your text here[/em]

To underline your text, it's

[u]your text here[/u]

To make your text bold and strong, it's

[b]your text here[/b]

To strike through your text you can use

[s]this[/s] or [del]this[/del]

To do this weird background thing it's

[ins]this[/ins]

All of these, plus colors, can be used at the same time!
I don't recommend doing this.

To align your text in the center, it's

[center]Look at me![/center]

To make headers -- slightly larger, bolded text -- use

[h]header[/h]

Example at the very start of this guide.

The most useful part of the guide and the most annoying BBCode there is.
To give your text some color, use the color tag.

You can either use names or Hex codes; a full list is linked at the end of the guide.

If I want to quote someone but don't want to use the quote button, I would do this:

(if you want just a box, don't have the =name part)

To be able to show what BBCode you're using like I've done throughout this guide, do

To do a box for actual code or the like, or anything that still requires BBCode formatting, it's

▼ Youtube Embedding

To embed a youtube video, you need to find the ID of the video, which is everything after the watch?v=, such as https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kGDrOGutReQ

As a side-note, autoplay videos aren't allowed on the forums. And if your video contains swearing or other things against forum rules, we ask you to just post the link, or put it in a trigger tag.

▼ Lists

Lists are fun, right? Bullets. Numbers. Letters. Pick your poison.
To start off, you use a list tag and then declare what type -- list=1 for numbered lists, or list=a for lettered list. It defaults to just bullets if you don't put anything. Surround your item with * tags.

You can't make nested lists, which is a bummer.

▼ Links/Images

To link something, you do this:

[url]http://everybodyedits.com/[/url] or [url=http://everybodyedits.com/]my favorite game![/url]

For images, you first need to upload it somewhere like imgur and get the direct link to the image. The link should end in .png, .gif, .jpg, etc.

[img]http://i.imgur.com/g652Rtv.png[/img]

gives you this:

If your image is really large, please just make it a link instead. And if your image contains swearing, please stuff it inside the trigger tag, coming up next.

▼ Hide/Spoiler/Trigger

Maybe you want to hide what you're saying. There's two ways of doing this!
One way is the hide tag, which matches your text to the background no matter what theme you're using; it has to be highlighted to be seen.

Another way of doing this is the spoiler tag, as seen throughout this guide.

If you want to post an image or video that contains swearing, that's okay. Just BE SURE to remember to put it in a trigger tag first:
