Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

I'm sure all of you know (and for the most part love) our lovely smiley, the New Year 2010 smiley. You know, the one with the green hat. However, I'm sure a few of you didn't know that the hat was originally supposed to be red! The New Years 2010 smiley with the red hat was originally created by RPGMaster2000, but at the last second, Chris Benjaminsen, who was in charge, reverted the hat to green. RPGMaster2000 noted this, and back on the very old forum post, he gave us a picture of what the red hat smiley was supposed to look like! You can find that post here: http://forums.everybodyedits.com/viewto … 7188#p7188
As you can see, Tinypic is a horrible image host, and should never be used. The image was deleted, and the red hat went unsaved. At least for the most part. There is one person who managed to save the smiley from redemption, and that would be me (Look down in my signature. YOU see nothing, but if you click and drag it a little bit, you'll see that there's a smiley near the bottom with an alien weapon wearing a red hat.) I approached our lovely graphics designer Toop about this smiley, asking him if this smiley could ever potentially see the light of day ever again, and he said if someone could fix it, he gave a resounding yes. I took it upon myself to fix it.
Here ya go
EDIT: Since click and drag seems to be very weird, here's the image the Red Hat smiley stayed in for a while. Very cringeworthy, I know.

I didn't play long enough in 2010, probably a few days, to see anything happen. Is this the old magic stuff?

It looks like the pic was part of a zombie game mode suggestion or something, with the gun on the wall and the custom HUD bar on the bottom. That just looks like a drawn in scoreboard or something.

Exactly what EvilBunny said
but instead of the zombie gamemode being a suggestion, it was actually supposed to be an expectation vs reality image, but i never finished it

I Love the New Year 2010 Green Hat Smiley, but the OG RPGMaster2000 Red Hat Smiley brings back memories when staff would sometimes have their own secret smiley.
But anyways I love Red Hat Smiley And I want it in the game BAD!

The red one is definitely better, pass it as a 4th July smiley?

Not everyone in the world celebrates 4th of July so I don't see EE Doing that.

Here is the original with a transparent background:
I'm fairly sure I got this image from the post you linked, back in February 2011.

Most of EE admins are from Europe so I don't think we will have an update dedicated to 4th July event

Countries tend to celebrate Halloween VERY differently, and we get stuff for that almost yearly. And how many other countries celebrate Thanksgiving like people in the United States do? (lol not everybody has a chance to make a kissing face during Valentine's day, either)
