Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Re: Graphical Development Topic [Fixing white backgrounds, and some more!]

I feel you need to make 3 different types of tree trunk. Left, which only has a left shaded border, middle, with no borders, and right. I feel the borders which make the tree look blocky is the problem

Thanks for the discussion so far! //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/smile
Based on your feedback I was able to to make the second version of the Environment Pack, which should be a bit more refined than the initial version. Changes: Remade tree texture to be less rough and more vertical, flattened grass and reduced highlight to make it less shiny, made stone look more like stone and less HD, minor shading changes to obsidian rock as well.

I've also made a high quality gif to make it easier to directly compare both versions so far.

Here's the after frame made with Environment Pack V2.

I still think that you should remove the borders and have left-middle-right trunks. Might try this myself, idk

Re: Graphical Development Topic [Fixing white backgrounds, and some more!]

The grass is a huge improvement, and I like it a lot now! I think the main problem was that you embossed some of the blocks too much and made them look blurry. The only blocks I still don't particularly like are the bark and damp blocks.

I'm not sure if this helps much but I made an attempt to improve the damp block:

Re: Graphical Development Topic [Fixing white backgrounds, and some more!]

I like all the blocks now, and I especially think the bark is a nice improvement. Although I like the stone, I think it has lost its dampness. Also, it looks similar to the viking stone (perhaps making it more "damp" would solve this issue).

I liked the old one's texture, but I like the new one's borders and 2Dness.

still no use in rushing it, they want them to look the best they can look. We have time, we don't need these blocks immediately.

Re: Graphical Development Topic [Fixing white backgrounds, and some more!]

After consideration from this topic and a few other complaints about the stone pack, I've attempted to make some changes to help fix the problem.

Added 3 more colors and the edges are properly rounded.

I don't really like the idea of it being rounded. Looks odd to me. Having different colours is cool though.

It looks really nice and a lot smoother, definitely more pleasing and less eye-burning. I can't really think of anything wrong with it now, good job!

The colors are awesome, but I've always found the stones to look a bit fuzzy compared to the other graphics in game.

Make the stone look like environment pack, that would look much nicer than mrs hoe's ugly graphics

Did you really have to merge this topic with the old one? Makes it a little confusing. //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/tongue

I don't think a recolor was what I really wanted. The block itself looks rather blurry to me and shouldn't have rounded edges. I'd opt for a complete redesign, but I know someone would get upset.

Sort of off topic: could you add a light Grey mineral block to the mineral pack?

I dunno about those recolors... It's not everyday that I find an orange or green stone just lying around... Maybe you can just do black, gray, brown, and bluish (like the last one in your bedrock pack)

Thanks for your input, as always it really helps.
After more thought it's been decided that a texture redesign would be best for this package.
