Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

[Suggestion] Warning warnings

Do any of you guys remember back on forumify where Jakery added a little warning message above the quick reply box for people who were about to double post, or who were about to gravedig? What would you guys think about getting that added back?

Yes, please, in a big scary red box.

Just wondering, how much warnings/points/ban rudik3000 got? I believe he broke at least 3-4 rules.

This is a false statement.

Re: [Suggestion] Warning warnings

Definitely. Just remind users that they can still double post if they're about different relevant subjects.

On many forums there are warnings like "You're about to post in a thread that is over 2-3 months old. Make sure you have a good reason for bringing this thread back" and such like that. It's really useful for new users, and generally everyone who just forgets the rule sometimes.

I think when people say not to post 1-word posts, putting a sign saying "This is here so I don't get banned." wouldn't really do anything because its not even relevant.

Yes because some people do not know when it is appropriate to bump or double post.

Re: [Suggestion] Warning warnings

Mildly related- Are random short/useless posts such as "lol", "no", etc. spam warning worthy? And if so, could that be added too?

Obligatory piece of text placed here forcing you to load an extra 100 bytes of data per post I make.

Re: [Suggestion] Warning warnings

"lol", definitely. Anything you can reply "lol" to would be better off as a woot. "no" is a bit more borderline, but I'd go ahead and say it is because it really doesn't add a whole lot to the conversation by itself and often needs a follow up post explaining why that person said no anyway, might as well ask them to include reasoning with their "no".

Re: [Suggestion] Warning warnings

Okay, warning warnings are added. I am currently being warned against making a double post that isn't adding "something significantly different"

Here's what the messages say, if anyone has any suggestions.

Double posting wrote:

Caution
You already have the latest reply to this thread. If your post isn't about something significantly different, consider adding the message onto your last post instead of making a whole new one.
Double posting without adding new content to the topic is against the rules and will likely result in a warning.

Gravedigging wrote:

Caution
This thread has been inactive for more than two weeks, and is considered dead. Replying is called, "gravedigging." Only reply if you are reviving the thread with new content.

Gravedigging with a simple reply will result in a warning.
