Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Relax, this is not the charms bar from Windows 8. This doesn't sucks. The charms bar is a replacement for the bottom bar in the desktop client

Simply swipe from the left edge to open the charms bar

Mini Chat- It Doesn't distract your gameplay! hold on a chat to reply, or double tap the mini-chat to enter full-screen chat. After sending a message, you will return to gameplay mode.

Full Screen Chat- For those who are hanging out only, always stays in full-screen

The messages button should be at the top right IMO.
Other than that I like it.

Re: Android EE v2

As a graphics designer and developer i have some things to complain about
1. Counter intuitive.
For a game where the playscreen is crucial, the buttons take up a lot of space.
- They are solid, while them being transparent would have been a much better choice.
- There is no need for indicational ring around the joystick, it could have been a simple small transparent circle positioned in the corner of the screen that could be dragged around withing certain circular bonds.
- A lot of functionality is missing, such as an edit interface, etc.

2. Doesn't maintain a unified design.
You mixed 3 design styles there:
- EE style
- Old 2010 glossy style for the buttons
- IOS flat style for the menu
These styles don't go well together and make the entire experience seem messy and more crowded that it really should be.

Also, on a personal note, why iPhone? A lot of the functionality needed for a proper ee experience can be covered by Android's built-in buttons. (menu, back, etc.) Android is a much better choice for a game like EE.

Edit: Comment not relevant anymore, goey updated the graphics.

Re: Android EE v2

Dragging down from the top wouldn't work for Android devices, as that's how you access the phone's settings.

Above isn't relevant anymore with the update.
My reflections on the update are very positive, I love the new design and it's expanded capabilities. It's cluttered, but EE's a complicated game, so when you're trying to fit it on a tiny screen it's going to be cluttered. You did do an excellent job at making it as simple as possible however, editing would be a hassle in the form- but you could do it, which is a big step forward. The only thing I'd want to see is a lobby screen, but that's just about it.

It won't work on IOS either, because it would access the notification center.
And swiping from the bottom would get you to the control center., which cannot be altered as shown in the bottom image.

Re: Android EE v2

What website did you use to make the image seem to appear on a phone (if you did)
And also I like the idea but it will be hard to do minis and things that is not just chilling out and chatting since the joystick probably wouldn't be as controllable as your keyboard. For example doing a hookjump (although you probably wouldn't) would be difficulty because you have to move the joystick back and forth quickly and jump and your phone might not be able to press 2 things at once.

Re: Android EE v2

Onscreen controls that emulate a controller is almost always a bad idea for mobile gaming, especially for platformers. Its obtrusive and awkward to use. It generally just doesn't work.

This is probably ambitious, likely doesn't work either, and I don't even know how many devices support multitouch, but how about this:

Swipe your finger in a direction and hold it on the screen to continue moving in that direction. To switch directions, move your finger in another direction without lifting it from the screen. You will move as long as you have a finger on your screen. For example, in god mode, moving your finger in a circle would move your smiley in a circle. For a long distance, moving your finger left and holding it still after moving it, your smiley will continue to move left until you either lift your finger from the screen or move your finger in another direction. To jump, just tap the screen with a separate finger. If you want to jump in place, just tap the screen with two fingers at once.

To access chat, lobbies, and menus, you could double tap the far left side of the screen to bring up separate buttons for each interface.

Also, as Raon said, please no glossy beveled design.

Overall though, this is a pipe dream. It likely will never happen, and why should it? The best thing EE related to come as a mobile phone app would be just a mobile energy shop that you link with your account.

My source doesn't have much credibility, but it looks like they are working on an Android app of some kind (excerpt from everybodyedits.com source)

In my opinion, if it was going to be released, it might be aimed at tablets/iPads because it's really hard to see that much on a small screen. As bobithan said, an emphasis could be placed on buying things in the shop, which would certainly work. Maybe make it beep or something if a world that you like is online or a friend is online or something.

As everybody else said, It would be inaccurate to play on a phone (including apple devices) b/c the space would be too tight and it would be nearly impossible to play, 7"+ would work better (for ex. my samsung galaxy tab 3 kids 7.0" is accurate for most games (except a few that are 10.0" compatible only), Also, Apple devices have a less chance of getting it due to the heading code i found in the older site (It had a android and the tooltip was Android App: Coming soon!), Sorry about that
