Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

[Client] HTML5 EE - Development Status

Welcome!

Note: Right now, this is nothing official. Just some side project I have been working on for a few days. //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/wink

Flash is getting obsolete. HTML5 is the new cool thing. So I took the challenge and converted some parts of EE to javascript. Here is the result:
http://html5ee.sepi.me/ http://forums.everybodyedits.com/viewto … 43#p656143

xJeex made a far better map for a demo:
http://xjeex.itch.io/everybody-edits-html5

This is not complete, but I wanted to share it with you already.
The main goal is to create a client that runs faster than EE, and I think I have succeeded so far. I expect the performance to degrade a little bit once I add animations support, but even then, this client should remain faster than the flash version.

I'd be glad if you'd try it and gave me some feedback. //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/big_smile

Seems like the hotkey with wasd is not so good. I get stuck sometimes. But always nice to see. Else it works good so far. Nice project.

And isn't that amazing?
That means EE will have less lag and higher FPS due flash replacion with HTML5!

Re: [Client] HTML5 EE - Development Status

If you are going to export EE to 'the new open standards' will cause more 'hacking' and 'modified clients'.
Flash is starting to die, I agree. But the main reason is because of mobile.
I really want to see this change because EE will no more depend on PlayerIO
Good luck!

Regardless if its a 10x10 or a 100x100 its a start.  Doesn't make any less impressive.

This is actually something to be excited for. A full transition would be great. It's so smooth!

I can confirm that hooks are just as annoying in HTML.

Flash actually seems smoother/faster for me...
This is just a start though, so as it progresses it'll probably reverse.

Ofc there is going to be rough areas in it.  He made it over 3 days? I think it would be great to have it in written in HTML.  Though, I wonder what would happen to all the other websites that have EE on it...

EDIT: It feels like jumping is a bit off.  Like it's too fast maybe?

I wasn't being a perv.  Now that you mentioned that I did laugh //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/tongue

I thought it was funny because 6.9fps is so low.  I think it runs 40-60 for me.

The one that xjeex made with hookjumps. The physics is really bad, feels like jumping have a lot of speed.
