I'm getting Microsoft Visual Studios 2013!!!

Hey! I finally am getting Microsoft Visual Studios 2013 so I can attempt to program! Does anyone want to help me use it? Thanks!

VS2013 is slightly crappy. If it messes up on debugging, I'd stick with VS2012.

2010 FTW! There's also tons of plugin if you need a more personalized experience.

yeah and if your used to 2010 you always put brackets and it just does double or cancels them out its a pain if you've used other versions

Lol, I don't really know about the other versions, when I started I just randomly picked VS2010 for no reason. I haven't programmed in ages and I haven't actually done that much programming at all, so I'm a nub too. But not as nubby as you

I wouldn't use youtube guides, unless you prefer them to text. If you don't like reading for too long, a good site is dotnetperls (I think that's what it's called). It doesn't have much text but still explains things well. My advice is that if you're ever reading something and you're confused, just try it out in your code. It's easier to understand something if you try it out, because you can learn from your mistakes and perhaps figure out how it works.

Except for the fact that 2010 doesn't support .NET Framework 4.5, which has some really useful features.

You're thinking of 2013. 2012 doesn't autocomplete anything, as far as I know. Also there's the option in 2013 to disable the autocompletion, which I currently use because I don't like it either

One thing i can suggest you, is finding someone who can help you. But stick to use google first. Nothing is more annoying then someone asking questions he could find out with 1 minute spent using google, though.
And try to have a clear coding style right from beginning. Helps everyone, you and the people who like to help you, if you have problems.

Meridith, you can disable certain auto-completion features in 2013 I believe, as the bracket auto-completion is either very useful or very annoying depending on where you are using it.

anch159, you mean you have downloaded the express edition? Are you looking for help with VS specifically or C#/Bots?

And there is some software I really recommend you download if you'd like help, Anch. It's called TeamViewer and there are plenty of people on there willing to help you out.
