Down during my vacation? That's just not fair!

Sorry the forums were down for so many days folks, I was on vacation in Quebec City, Canada. When I got back, lo and behold, apparently the MySQL server had broken itself almost immediately after I left (Quebec has a lot to see and explore, fantastic city and my trip felt too short but was great, thank you in advance for asking)

Anyhoo, I made it home late yesterday and tried briefly to fix it by restarting the MySQL process from the Parallels control panel, but that didn't really help. After almost an hour of trying various things, I decided to give restarting the entire VPS a try and that did it!

We should be back up and running, sorry for the downtime again! (visit Quebec! It's awesome!)

Nope, been there for at least a year, it just switches to posts per hour when there are more than 24 posts in a 24 hour period.

Try setting up a server that queries EE's forum page each hour, and if it finds an error, then it should automatically restart all the VPS network.

Glad you're back.   I was worried because the last post I saw you did was in 2011.     D=   Sorry about your vacation.        I've always wanted to visit Quebec City because I love Canada.   Thanks for fixing the forums.

Aww, well, knowing you went to Canada somehow makes my life being disastrously torn apart for a week okay, because you had fun and that makes me happy, although I'm slightly jealous. Canada, Cyclone? Canada? Why didn't you take me with you?!
