Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

The CPU of my computer when EE website is open...

A video showing the CPU usage of my computer when EE is open:

Computer stats:
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4700MQ
CPU @ 2.40GHz
RAM 32 GB
Number of Cores 4
Video Card1 NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770M
Video Card2 Intel(R) HD Graphics 4600
HDD Free Memory 1.0 TB
SSD Free Memory 120 GB

I honestly dont know why EE uses so much CPU, the ventilator of my computer get crazy with that quick change of the CPU usage.
When I´m in the lobby, it goes from 10% to 80% of CPU usage (that only task).
In-game (when I join a room) the CPU usage is less, going from 5% to 25% (that only task) (even if EE is not the selected tab).
When the tab of EE is not the selected tab, the CPU usage is 0% (that only task)
The problem only occurs when EE is open and I´m on the game tab.

Do someone have the same issue?
Do someone know how to fix that problem?
I appreciate all help.

Re: The CPU of my computer when EE website is open...

Its because EE has been patched over and built on top of many times, and hasnt had any major rewrites
This means that every update adds a small amount of processing time, and the fairly large inefficiencies are never fixed

This is one of the main reasons why moving to Unity is good, because it means that all of the code has to be rewritten, so can hopefully be made more efficient and less messy

It might be because im using firefox, or just because I have a good computer, but Flash player only uses 5-10% CPU when I play EE (10-15% in lobby)
Computer stats:
Intel i7-2700K CPU (4 cores, 8 threads) overclocked to about 4ish GHz (I cant remember what exactly)
8 GB of RAM  (Woah, just looked at yours, why do you need 32 GB??? No game ive ever played uses more than 4)
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780 Ti
1 TB HDD
256 GB SSD

Re: The CPU of my computer when EE website is open...

• CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-3120M CPU @ 2.50GHz (2.50GHz)
• Memory: 3.9 GiB Total
• Storage: 80.8 GiB / 298.9 GiB (218.2 GiB Free)
• VGA: Intel(R) HD Graphics 4000

Yet, EE has always taken only about 2% of CPU. Never seen it take more, never has my computer gotten unresponsive because of the game.

Perhaps I never leave the game open at lobby, wasting memory...

Wow, my CPU sits at 40-50% in the lobby, then drops down to 10-20% when I enter a world. Jumps right back up when I leave the world.

GG.

His graphics card seems good, and he has pleanty (IMO excessive amounts) of RAM, so I would have thought that he would be ok
I guess it could be his CPU, but 2.4 GHz definately isnt bad, and HG said he can run the game fine with one at 2.5 GHz

It might be a software thing I guess... When was the last time you reinstalled windows (its good to do it every so often, not quite sure why, but it definately helps). Also, if you havent done a virus scan in a while, I would do one
Or maybe its that for some reason flash cant use your graphics card, so everything is being done on your CPU, which would explain why everyone elses is so low, yet yours is so high, although im not sure how you could test this or fix it other than just making sure you have the latest version of flash and the latest graphics drivers

Flash uses hardware acceleration by default, since it allows for better performance. However, it consumes too much CPU.
Software acceleration decreases CPU usage, and increases rendering quality, but it would run way too slow.

Maybe its about this error of NVIDIA:
o2CGrf0.png

I had that error for a long time, sometimes it get solved, sometimes it come back after it were solved, such a random error.
I absolutely will buy a new computer as soon as I can afford it.
Yeah, the computer I have has some problems, I had reinstalled and reset to factory settings my computer a lot of times, I usually scan the computer once per month, I guess my computer is just too haunted.

Re: The CPU of my computer when EE website is open...

That might be the problem... Maybe reinstall drivers then?
Also, as your computer does seem like it should still be good enough for quite a long time, it would probably be better (cheaper) to try to fix the problems you are having, rather than just getting a new computer. If you get an error code then you can usually google it and find other people who've had the same problems, and sometimes found ways to fix them

Also HG: I was just thinking that maybe something could be preventing flash from using hardware acceleration, which could be those errors ^, which would probably cause similar problems to what Minisaurus is having

Re: The CPU of my computer when EE website is open...

1.7% is only 0.102MB on your CPU which isn't much (would definitely be smaller the game was playing with HTML5).

But putting that into perspective (my CPU cache is twice the size of yours - so double the values in the screenshot) regular websites also take up a load of the CPU cache.

Task Manager

Websites in general require a lot of processing and it's not just down to EE using flash - we all know that it does require more than nothing to run, nothing new //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/tongue

Yes, I can relate to this. But so does many other online games.

I have the same problem, WebGL EE will fix this CPU problem, even if you have a 3,00GHz CPU then it's still lagging

I've had worse with 50% CPU usage whilst in the lobby. The flash client is horribly inefficient.
