Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

You can spam a bit, but once you get to a certain point, you get the spam warning message. At that point, you have to wait like five minute to chat again. Sometimes I just happen to say lots of things, and now I can't talk with other people for several minutes because of it. I'm not sure how it works, but I really feel like the calculations could be improved somehow.

Maybe you should try to fit more words in one chat message?

nah
i dont
think
thats a good
idea
well
maybe
no
(what if we "make" our "chat speech" in the process of writing it so like when we send the 1st part of the message we havent yet completely built the message that we are trying to deliver? im not sure but maybe thats what run-on sentences are by the way)

I think it's more of an attempt to get a less discrete discussion and tend back towards the continuity we feel when conversing in some medium that's more up-to-speed. At least, that's how it is for me. By flushing my thoughts periodically, I can also make sure that the conversation doesn't veer away from me while I write some extensive argument.

IMO, the spam prevention and the caps thing should both be removed
I'm not sure what you are talking about, I've never had it that it's stopped me from chatting completely, but I've had the can't say something too many times thing
If there is a speed thing, then it's never even happened to me, so I'm guessing that if you don't spam then you're fine

It's happened to me a few times, but not so often that it has to be changed. @NVD - if you talk to lots of people at the same time, to stop confusion messages will be posted separately and may only consist of a username and a few words that can be churned out quickly *put on foil hat* this is a clear example of reverse elitism, those who can type fast are being punished; may your WPM be low.
Thank you eleizibeth ^
I stack my signatures rather than delete them so I don't lose them

FIVE MINUTES? I get warned because I type fast.

Increase the limit. The spam warning is for saying multiple things over and over again anyway, and it makes bot worlds unplayable and commonly used phrases impossible to say. I personally think setting spam limits should be the right of the owner. Also, it is easier said than done to fit more words in because some things are supposed to be separate.

Thinking back, I'm not sure it's ever really done what it was intended to do. When someone wanted to the spam the chat, they'd use several accounts, or just spam the chat with strings of numbers/letters (making sure each message is different).

Tbh remove it completely, we have a /mute command for a reason. People should learn to just use that if they don't like spam

Yeah, with /mute and /forgive we can deal with spammers ourselves.
One bot to rule them all, one bot to find them. One bot to bring them all... and with this cliché blind them.

I still think it should be against the rules. I don't want to join the top world in the lobby and see five users spamming.

Yesterday I was in a bot world and using !coins. It prevented me from saying !coins anymore due to spam.
I know that bots technically aren't supported by the game but surely a change as simple as this shouldn't be problematic?

It's a really easy solve for bot makers, all my bots just convert all chat messages to lowercase before checking for commands (then you can use !cOIns)
I agree that you should at least have an option to turn off spam filtering though
