Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

EE is slowly dying.

Last year, I noticed how EE has 300 plays average per day. I check back on it today and it's around 100 now.
EE is dying slowly. People are losing interest.
Any thoughts?

Re: EE is slowly dying.

The reason behind this is the lack of updates. Which is because the Staff are apparently working on the UnitEE update (though this isn't made clear?) that was announced sixteen month ago. This, stacked on top of Cape Copenhagen's year-long "summer vacation" is pushing the game to its limits like a dry desert pushes a fish to its limits.

I just think that people got bored of EE.
EE didn't had anything new for a long while. Adding new faces and new blocks isn't enough.

Re: EE is slowly dying.

This has something to do with the woot update back then. You could woot levels and it could stay on top of the lobby for days and sometimes even weeks. There were absolutely no way for newer level to get into the public face, not even the best builders. EX Crew levels, 100 Minis, didn't matter, they were blocked by levels with hundreds and thousands of woots that remained on the top lobby since forever. There was no damage control.

The past dev didn't do anything about it. It was only until people started leaving en masse that they decided to undo their mess.

If I recall correctly the developers that added woots added different sorting options to the lobby a few weeks later. That's still pretty bad though.

And the fact that EE went a year without updates didn't help.

So what actually drove players off? Does EE's life depend on constant additions to its content?

I think what drove players away was the fact that 'Veterans' and 'Noobs' became more of a noticable title for people.

I think it was much more obvious a long time ago. Back when EX Crew, MG Crew, and all the other competition was alive, there were lots of people deemed "pros", made obvious by their level building style. Nowadays, "pros" don't make many worlds anymore, and the only "pro" group we have left is NSFW Crew. Which may or may not still be alive. "Noobs" pretty much own the lobby by now, with "pro" stuff usually being either ignored or sent off to the campaigns. If anything, we need more "pros" to encourage friendly competition.

Re: EE is slowly dying.

I see.....
I've noticed this too back then,
and I realized about cyberbullying in Everybody Edits.
Because of bullying, hacking, drama, and rude people, some of the most players left Everybody Edits because of that.
Well, it's most because of

and this quote, that explained about old player's hard work being destroyed, made a quarter of the most players leave Everybody Edits.
Well, it might be because of mean and rude players who wanted players to have depression, and sadness.
Some of the most players were very sad and depressed from evil players who wanted their way, because of this, some of the most players left in Everybody Edits and they might have promised that they would never see EE ever again.....
We must stop flame wars in EE before more players leave and there would be only be about 30 players online.

I don't think it's the entire reason. If it were, i think we'd be hearing a lot more complaints on the forum. While there are definitely some toxic players, they're a minority. Even many trolls otherwise seem like regular users, though that doesn't justify their trolling.

Also, lots of 'drama' i hear about seems to be petty bickering between users. That isn't the type of 'drama' we should be giving attention to. Although i don't know exactly what you're going through so i can't judge how severe it is. If you experience genuine cyberbullying, just report the cyberbullies. If they don't get banned, message the Staff. If the Staff ignore you, then perhaps ask the forum about it.

I had an idea to do a similar world style as NSFW, but nobody wants to help. In which causes me to solo most of the worlds. I have 7 400x200 worlds, 9 200x200 and 3 300x300 worlds and I haven't the foggiest on what to do with them.

Said it earlier but I'll say it again. Woot update. That update drove the player online from 1500 down to 200. I've seen it myself.

Re: EE is slowly dying.

I think a better lobby would save EE. That's how you get retention, you prevent the game from feeling stale. Consistent updates might keep things fresh, but having new fun levels to play being released often would be better.
