[ and ] won't work on different keyboards

Dear EE staff,
we all clearly understand that you use english/american keyboards. But not everyone uses them.
For example. My keyboard requires ctrl+alt+( to enable [. But hey! Why does Ctrl redirect my hotbar selector to delete block?

Please fix this.

Why did they decide to use [ and ] at the beginning? Why not just +/- or something like Q/E.
