Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

To think that today is the day, of all days, that I randomly thought about EE after years away from the community :')
It's refreshing to see this community still somewhat thriving, wishing everyone a good and productive 2024!

Now, if you'll excuse me, I'll go back to hibernating...

The votes weren't done in PM, I created a special page for the occasion. Source code is here for anyone interested. I'm not sure what you mean by public vote but everyone having their vote out in the open is more likely to cause bias since they'd be more likely to vote with friends than against.

My bad with the first statement, then.
What I meant with public vote is to have the results open to the public, so that we are able to see the results live. But disregard this, because I didn't realise that the votes were not done by private message.

:c

#3 Re: Forum Discussion » Can reducing someones rep with a vague and/or spam reason get u warned » 2016-08-09 13:43:26

I like reputations, because it gives me anonymity, in a way, to peacefully smite someone if they've triggered me (ooh, look at me. i'm so hip) on the forums. But reps are a privilege on the forums, and to misuse it, could mean, like Different55 stated, you could have your reputation taken away.

Your choice, in the end, tho

#4 Re: Forum Games » Mind Boggle: An intellectual RPFG » 2016-08-09 12:56:47

Puzzle 1 has been addressed; check your private messages for the details.
For anyone who wants to participate late, you will need to wait for puzzle 2, meaning you will start out with 0 coming into puzzle 2.

Remember, you can choose to play solo, but as challenges get harder, it is encouraged to find a team.

#5 Re: Forum Games » Mind Boggle: An intellectual RPFG » 2016-08-09 12:39:28

Ah. Completely forgot about this. I might start Mind Boggle #1 now. The teams will be split three-aside. Puzzle 1 will be posted up soon on Aug 9, 2016, AEST. Puzzle 1 will run for a week. Remember, to post your answers, as a group, you must private message myself.

Puzzle 1: Deadline - August 17, 2016 0:00 AEST

Swimming at the 2012 Summer Olympics – Men's 1500 metre freestyle

lol, I was redirecting a page to the "Swimming at the 2012 Summer Olympics – Men's 1500 metre freestyle" page on Wikipedia, and I couldn't be bothered typing all that.

#10 Re: Forum Discussion » Official Intro/Outro Thread » 2016-08-09 11:52:16

I know I've made an introduction, but ehh...why not make another, since it's been a while since I last came here?
Anyway, I'm Opengangs, currently residing in Australia. I'm currently 17, in my final years of senior school before transitioning to university. How exciting!
I hope to come back more often, but that's not a guarantee. My finals exams are coming up, so I'll be fairly busy with that. But that doesn't mean I won't drop by and visit every now and then.

Outside of the forum, I'm currently a game developer, working on a couple of projects that have received critical acclaim by my peers. I hope to release it sometime by the end of next year. But, I also play the piano (level 6; stopped grade), as well as play several sports (mostly cricket, and soccer/football).

#11 Re: Forum Discussion » Why the Zoey Poll is Biased » 2016-08-09 11:45:59

Please take my opinion with a grain of salt, for I don't know much (heck, at all) about the situation at hand, but I'm going to express my opinion regardless. And the better, for I'm taking a neutral stance at this.

People are going to be biased at everything. We are shaped by our own perspectives of such a situation, and if the subject is a well-respected member, we tend to push back our original decisions. There's not much we can do to have a neutral perception. It's only human, after all. Our actions tend to mirror past relationships, such as friendships, with the subject at hand, in this case, Zoey2070.
With that being said, I still think it's great that voting is anonymous, but voting by private messages is a little bit like a double-edged sword. Like I said in another thread, I suggest that we have a public vote (don't know if we can do polls in this forum) that allows us to see the results, live, rather than being inclined to private messaging someone.

Just my opinion. //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/smile

#12 Re: Game Suggestions » See Old Username Even if Their Profile is Private » 2016-08-09 11:37:01

Yeah, honestly, I think we should be able to see people's older usernames. I come from another website, where they recently allowed name changes. To avoid confusion, they had a fade hover link that shows every alias that particular person has used.
I think, if name changes are happening with Everybody Edits, this would be a good feature that removes any sort of confusion among the parties.

What defines a nation, or territory, a "country"? Keep in mind, there technically aren't any right and wrong answers, because of no universal definition of a "country".
In my honest opinion, I define a nation a country if it has its own government, like that of Taiwan (Republic of China), which leads to its own legislation and policies.

What's your take?

#14 Re: Game Business » Everybody Edits Contest: Summer 2016! [Results!] » 2016-08-09 11:14:06

Congratulations to everyone who won!
I'm new to this whole contest biz, so excuse me, ahaha

#15 Re: Forum Business » Zoey possibly demodded » 2016-08-09 11:11:53

well, obviously, if it's all anonymous and the votes are done by PM, there will be inconsistency in the voting process. I don't know if we can do it, but I suggest doing a public vote, but the list of people who voted for and against remain anonymous. That way, there will be no bias, as the results remain public, however, the list of voters can still remain private to reduce backlash from the subject being demodded. But yeah, just a suggestion. Feel free to ignore this, if everything is resolved.

Edit: Well, there won't be no bias, I feel like it will heavily reduce any sort of bias

Will show a project I've been working on, related to the Everybody Edits universe. It'll be a bit bare, but the design will be there. //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/wink
It's hosted on Blogger, because Wordpress is too confusing //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/sad and Wix and Weebly are trash.

I'm releasing the design to the public on June 27, 2016, but if you want to take a look before hand, message me on the forum and I'll get back to you.

BUT...

I might release it to the public a bit earlier if I have enough people supporting me, either by regularly coming back here, or wooting me. It helps my motivation to see that my efforts are not [going to be] in vain.

Arctic Monkeys is good, and totally forgot about Bjork.
I really like Hillsong United, as well.

what about those paradigm thingies people talk about? Do we have those figured out? Are they more important than languages?
What if we all knew every possible aspect of a language (every possible keyword, function, module, library, class)... could we put them together and make them actually do things right?

Alright, I've changed my wording.

What languages of programming have you learned?
I've been learning HTML, CSS, JS, Lua, and Python, and I'm planning in expanding that to C# and perhaps Ruby, as well.
